These torps use phase thechnology for penetration of the target's shields and directly causing damage to the hull. They where another of the joint Federation-Romulan anti-Borg weapons project's outcome besides the Streamed Plasma. These torpedoes use their high speed to produce high kinetic energy upon impact, causing serious damage to their target.
