Description

This mod contains four versions of SFRD's Corinium Class, ready to serve in your BC Remastered fleet!


This mod has been updated per the notes below:


Updated 2023-10-28 by MSR1701 with the following changes:

- Updated Projectile Script for compatibility with REv1.2

- Updated SFX script for compatibility with RE v1.2

- Removed Ablative Armor scripting to work in RE v1.2

- Cloned ships to allow Weathered Textured versions to be a separate selectable ship

- Plugins load ships under "SFRD Ships"

No other changes were effected to the model, textures and scripts on this update.

To Install:

STARFLEET: R&D

This is the second design released from Starfleet: R&D this is the NX Corinium a concept in 
upgrading the existing Sovereign class.

Requirements

You will need to have installed the bridge commander patch

NX/USS CORINIUM – redesign

After the loss of the NX CORINIUM,  the first redesign of the SOVEREIGN Class, Starfleet again began a redesign phase and though the original CORINIUM was a seeming success it was deemed a larger ship would be constructed. 
The new CORINIUM Class would be larger than her lost predecessor and with greater fire power utilising a new innovation in phaser technology : Modulated, electro-mAGnetic pulse phaser Cannons (MAG-Cannons). These produce a EM modulated pulse meaning that each pulse that leaves the cannons is modulated to a different EM frequency this results in greater effectiveness against enemy shields and hull.
The new CORINIUM class utilises a larger saucer design, with one feature being a large cargo/shuttle bay at the forward edge, this was shelved for the first run of ships and the space used for the MAG Cannons and extra science/crew and other facilities useful for a front line exploration ship.
The USS CORINIUM-A has passed her trials, her trial was as eventful as her predecessors. During the year of her shake down cruise she came into conflict with rogue dominion forces, forced into combat with the small fleet the ship and using the vessels new MAG Cannons the NX CORINIUM-A destroyed the fleet and disabled some of the dominion ships. After boarding the ships and downloading the tactical data it was discovered that these ships were involved in the original attack on the NX CORINIUM, but it is indicated that the NX CORINIUM was victorious in battle but as the rest of the dominion fleet attacked, the Starfleet ship was gone. None of the ships sensors registered anything but a huge subspace distortion, similar to when a ship goes to warp but of a unimaginable magnitude, the direction of the distortion was masked by high levels of quantum particles causing sensor readings to be impossible, Starfleet believe the ship had a malfunction of the new QSD, despite a lengthy search the ship was never found.
After returning to star base for repair, the NX CORINIUM-A, named in honour of the original ship and crew, was commissioned in 2381 and left for her first exploration mission on the 30th June 2381, as the USS CORINIUM, NCC 92409-A.
Starfleet are now in the process of commissioning the second CORINIUM Class the USS STARGAZER NCC 2893-A



NX CORINIUM (weathered textures)

In 2378 the first CORINIUM Class ship, NX Corinium NX 92409 was lost one year after her launch. By 2381 the first production ship of the redesigned CORINIUM Class had been launched and had discovered some of the mystery surrounding the los of her predecessor.

In 2394 the NX Corinium was found adrift at the edge of Breen space near the Black Cluster, she was discovered by a federation starship and though there were some power eminations from the old ship there was an unknown radiation field surrounding her which prevented the Starfleet vessel from detecting any life-signs.
The NX Corinium looked battered had both SIF failure and Battle damage, the captain of the ship that had discovered her described the ship as “looking weathered, like she’d been through a storm at sea… though for many years.”
Towing the ship away from Breen space and back across the federation border the NX Corinium was brought to  StarBase 514 where she is being studied.

In 2419 the USS CORINIUM-A finally returned to space dock for decommissioning the ship had been in service for 38 years. During which time she had explored well beyond the federation border and discovered many new civilisations.
During a renewed threat from the Borg the Corinium had helped protect federation space by defeating a Borg cube that had begun attacking along the cardassian/federation border. With help from the RRTF the Uss Corinuim destroyed the Borg ship.
The Uss Corinium aided a group of refugees from an unexplored sector of space beyond the Delphi Ardu system. The warp capable ships were no match for their enemies and when they pleaded with the captain of the Corinium for help and sanctuary the Uss Corinium brought her advanced weapons to bare and drove off the attackers, those refugees have now become federation citizens and have colonised the Delphi Ardu system as federation border guards. These guards are now well known as fierce fighters and many a Starfleet cadet has joined the infamous “Black Watch” a task force of Starfleet ships that hold those old foes of the colonists at bay.
Now on the day of her decommissioning the Starfleet vessel is as she always will be, a ship of unfailing ability. Her hull scorched in war, scarred in the turbulence of space but held dear by those that had called her home.
