This adds more Systems (maps) to Bridge Commander. His other system pack was great, so expect the same here.
I havnt tried this out yet but to go on his last system pack you can bet this is good. Enjoy
This is a modification of the original game Star Trek:Bridge Commander by Totally Games and Activision. Neither party has authorized this mod, and therefore bear no responsibility to any affect it may have on the game. Buyer Beware! This particular set is to install the new systems as new locations in QuickBattle mode. They are high-end designs, so low-end users may need to tweak their configurations for best results. These new systems are very small files, so future SystemPacks will include updated version of previous systems. This Mod has two parts: 1) Installing New Systems; 2) Adding to QuickBattle IMPORTANT NOTE: Part 2 has two different ways of doing it. People who just want to install the system and move on, may use Option A. People who are comfortable editing Python scripts may use Option B. ========================================= 1) INSTALLING NEW SYSTEMS 1.1) Find your Bridge Commander directory, usually in Program Files / Activision 1.2) Find this folder: Bridge Commander / scripts / Systems / 1.3) Unzip all the new files into this folder. It should create new folders for the new systems. ======================================== 2) ADDING TO QUICKBATTLE #################### Option A (The Easy Way): 2.A.1) Find this folder: Bridge Commander / scripts / System / NewQuick 2.A.2) Find this folder: Bridge Commander / scripts / QuickBattle / 2.A.3) Copy the file "QuickBattle.py" from the NewQuick folder into the QuickBattle folder ######################## Option B (Programmers Only): (this uses Banzai system as its example; repeat for all new systems) 2.B.1) Find this folder: Bridge Commander / scripts / QuickBattle / 2.B.2) Edit this file "QuickBattle.py" (If its not there, copy it from the NewQuick folder into the QuickBattle folder) 2.B.3) Down by line 264 (right after "Yiles"), add this after the final System entry in Group 2: BANZAI = 0x00000008 2.B.4) Down by line 1893, add this before Beol's entry (include tabs, and should look like other entries): if iRegionsUnlocked1 & BANZAI: pChangeRegionMenu.AddChild(CreateRegionMenuButton("Banzai", ET_SELECT_REGION_TYPE, "Banzai1", g_pXO)) ======================================== To play in any new system, simply start up Bridge Commander, and start a new Quick Battle. In the available systems, there should now be all new systems in the list. SYSTEM NOTES Bear in mind that there are huge distances between the planets, so it will take a while to get in-system. Even so, this is still "tiny" to what people may want for realism. Also, all the planets are aligned in their orbits, which doesn't happen very often, but makes it easier to get around! ;) I have left the Pythons uncompiled, so others can use this as a template to modify.
