Mr. Ifafudafi has decided to delay future releases of his Bloodlust CoD2 mod for community-related reasons. Read what he's got to say below...
I'm sure that fans of the mod are already panicking, so I'll make this short. For a few weeks, maybe a month or two, you won't be seeing more than a patch or two for the Bloodlust CoD2 Mod. Why? It seems that there's a huge fad for blood mods these days, with countless different ones such as Massacre, WCP, and various other small mods. This has caused my mod to lose some of its standing as "the original Merciless-powered gore mod for CoD2SP." Rather than try to compete with all the uprising blood developers, I'd prefer to sit back and let this thing die down a bit before bringing Bloodlust back to full strength.
This decision has nothing to do with my personal life. I'll still be working on beta 8 just as much as normal; and, heck, maybe I'll make some beta 9 content to release after 8. I've only done this to give myself some headroom. Back in the days of beta 3 and 4, this mod stood out as being the major blood mod, but now there are so many that it's kind of hard to still stand out without looking like just another wannabe blood developer.
Rest assured, though, when the time is right, Mr. Ifafudafi and Bloodlust CoD2SP will be back. But it may be a while.
Still, before that, you'll probably be seeing more from that age-old hi-res skin pack I promised some months ago. I've gotten a bit older, wiser, and more experienced, so there will be a bit more than some new wood and a few metal tweaks.
Second, the blood mod experience has compelled me to begin work on an explosion revamp mod, which, unless drastic changes occur, will probably improve explosions, along with various other effects. Expect some influence from CoD3 and FEAR.
Thanks, and don't worry. I definitely won't be going out of action.
