Description

Here's the third version of Camillo's CoD2 single-player realism mod, which changes tons of the 'little' things in order to make your game a much more realistic and intense experience. ;) This version adds and updates quite a few things, too, so don't just pass it up! If you liked any of the earlier versions, then read the list of v3 features below, and download this mod today! :thumbsup:

  1. Modified loadout (player starts with one main weapon and a handgun)
  2. Fixed a stock glitch in the Scoped Mosin Nagant rechamber animation
  3. Player can no longer rechamber rifles while aiming down the sights
  4. Weapons have more sway while aiming down the sight
  5. Changed some weapon names
  6. Removed all crosshairs (binoculars now serve a purpose in tank missions)
  7. Removed green friendly-fire icon
  8. Removed friendlies' pointers on the compass
  9. Removed weapon name at the bottom of the HUD
  10. Grenade icons moved to the right side of the HUD
  11. Removed lower-volume "whizbys" and flesh hit sounds in order to promote use with any other sound mod
  12. Increased damage radius for tank shells and Panzerschreck
  13. Damage levels of weapons are now based on ballistics and real parameters like bullet size, muzzle velocity, etc.
  14. Slightly increased zoom effect while aiming down the sights

README

INSTALLATION

1. After unpaking the file copy "ZZZ_Camillo_COD2SP_Realism_Mod" file into "main" folder located in Your Call of Duty 2 folder.
2. Make a backup copy of Your "config" file located in "main / players / (player profile name)" folder inside Your Call of Duty 2 folder and place it in a safe location in a case You would like to eventually find it in the future.
3. Copy "config" file located in unpacked folder with my mod into "main / players / (player profile name)" folder inside Your Call of Duty 2 folder, overwriting existing file.
4. Launch Call of Duty 2.
5. After launching You may be asked if You want to load the game using default settings and You have to select "NO".
6. When the game is loaded set Your graphics settings and key bindings with Your own preferences.
7. Now You can play but the mod will only work when You start any already finished mission from the beginning.


UNINSTALLATION

1. Detete "ZZZ_Camillo_COD2SP_Realism_Mod" file from "main" folder located in Your Call of Duty 2 folder.
2. Delete "config" file from "main / players / (player profile name)" folder located in Your Call of Duty 2 folder.
3. Find Your backup copy of "config" file and copy it into "main / players / (player profile name)" folder located in Your Call of Duty 2 folder.
4. If You can't find Your backup copy of the "config" file do not worry, just launch Call of Duty 2 and the game will automatically generate a new default "config" file.
5. Now You can play and Your Call of Duty 2 is just like it was before installing the mod.


INFO ABOUT THE MOD

In fact I've created this mod for myself with my own preferences and needs. However, I decided to share it with the other Call of Duty 2 players, maybe someone would like it too. The mission of this mod is basicly to deliver much higher level of realism in the game. Every change it brings is thinked over, realistic as much as can be and as much as the game allows, and is also based on authentic sources. Below You can find the list of modifications, including all changes which have been added in the next published releases of the mod.

WEAPONS

1. Rate of fire and damage level of every weapon was realistically increased and is based on ballistics and real parameters like bullet size, muzzle velocity etc. 
2. One shot in the head, neck or upper torso kills immediately, no matter which weapon was used.
3. All types of grenades have their real parameters, i.e. German and Russian grenades have cook timer and they explode after a few seconds after pulling out the pin, while American and British grenades have safety clip, so they can explode only after throwing them.
4. You cannot throw grenades as far as it was originally in the game.
5. German and Russian grenades have higher throw distance than American and British.
6. Increased damage radius for grenades, tank shells and Panzershreck.
7. You won't see any kind of gun tracers anymore, You will see them only on heavy machine guns like MG42 or 30cal. Partially the "WCPTracer" mod was used to get rid of those tracers - big thanks to it's author WiCoPP.
8. The maximum amount of ammunition You can carry was lowered and now it depends on the size of the clip.
9. Sniper rifles have bigger zoom effect while aiming with the scope.
10. The maximum amount of ammunition we can pick up from a dropped weapon is now only one full clip but sometimes it's a half full clip or even an empty clip, so now there is much less ammo in the game and You will have to use weapons You get at the beginning of a mission, because You will have full ammo for them.
11. Removed partial reloading on all rifles like Kar98k and Mosin Nagant. You can still partially reload all other weapons like Thomspon and PPSh.
12. Weapons have more sway while aiming down the sight, so it's harder to aim at the enemy. Also some of the weapons have a little more sway when aiming down the sight while moving.
13. Weapons have less zoom effect while aiming down the sight.
14. Muzzleflashes for rifles like Kar98k and Enfield lowered in size.
15. Your walking and running speed now depends on the realistic weight of the weapon You are currently carrying, i.e. when You carry Bren (about 8 kg) You move a little slower than when You carry MP44 (about 6 kg) and much slower than when You carry M1 Carbine (about less then 3 kg).
16. Loadout realisticly changed. You never start a mission with two main weapons, only one main weapon and a handgun like Colt, TT30 or Webley. Also every weapon in the game is at least once included into loadout, so now You will also start missions with weapons like BAR, Carbine, PPS42 or Webley.
17. Fixed a game bug of missing rechamber animation when firing Scoped Mosin Nagant sometimes using a scope. It was not my mod bug, it was the original game bug and luckily I've figured out how to fix it.
18. Removed a possibility to rechamber a rifle like Kar98k, Springfield and Mosin Nagant while aiming down the sight and now after taking a shot You will have to rechamber it without aiming down the sight and then aim down the sight again.
19. Added realisic weapon names.
20. In "The battle of Pointe du Hoc" when You're hit by enemy mortar at the beginning of the mission You lose all Your weapons and ammo, so You'll have to find Youself something before going into battle.

CHARACTERS

1. Health level of every soldier is now equal. Originally in the game friendly soldiers were 50% stronger than german soldiers.
2. Most of friendly and enemy soldiers now carry grenades and therefore You can expect really much more grenade flying in the game, so watch out.
3. German soldiers aim faster, so beware.
4. Allied soldiers accuracy increased a bit.

HUD

1. Stance icon removed.
2. Grenade danger indicator removed.
3. Compass size lowered.
4. Damage icons removed.
5. "Frag" and "Smoke" sings next to grenade icons removed.
6. Grenade icons moved to the right side of the HUD.
7. The compass and ammunition counter are now displayed all the time without dissapearing.
8. Removed friendlies pointers at the compass. You will only see the location of Your objective.
8. You won't see the names of friendly soldiers and tanks. Partially the "WCP2.2" mod was used to get rid of those names - big thanks to the author WiCoPP.
9. Removed green friendlyfire icon.
10. Removed weapon name at the bottom of the HUD.
11. Many of warnings any signs like "You're hurt! Get to cover!" and "Explosives planted. Stand back!" were removed.
12. Removed all crosshairs, even if You enable crosshair in the game options it won't appear. Also removed all crosshairs for any kind of turrets and tanks, so in tank missions if You want to aim You will have to use binoculars, which now have less zoom effect for better aiming at closer targets.


ADDITIONAL INFO ABOUT THE MOD

1. This mod is only for singleplayer mode of Call of Duty 2.
2. This mod may not work properly with any other realism mod but it should work without any problems when used with any sound, blood or skin mod.
3. Some of the signs removal changes will not affect on other than English version of Call of Duty 2.
4. While playing this mod You can expect much harder gameplay, i.e. You better watch out for enemy MG42 bursts, cause this weapon is much stronger than oryginally in the game.
5. It is possible that I forgot to mention some other small changes this mod brings, so forgive me.
6. For the real best experience it is highly recomended to use together my Camillo_COD2SP_Realism_Mod, Camillo_COD2_Sound_Volume_Mod and Camillo_COD2_Weapons_Sound_Mod. Those mods can work together without any problems and all of them You may download from www.codfiles.com.

CHANGES ADDED TO VERSION 2

1. Removed crosshairs for MG42 and 30cal machine guns.
2. Allied soldiers accuracy increased a bit.
3. German and Russian grenades have higher throw distance than American and British grenades.
4. Increased damage radius for grenades.
5. Some of the weapons have a little more sway when aiming down the sight while moving.
6. Every weapon has a little zoom effect while aiming down the sight.
7. Removed partial reloading on all rifles like Kar98k and Mosin Nagant. You can still partially reload all other weapons like Thomspon and PPSh.
8. Rate of fire for weapons changed into realistic.
9. Added real names of the weapons.


CHANGES ADDED TO VERSION 2.1

1. Muzzleflashes for rifles like Kar98k and Enfield lowered in size.
2. Added a slight and realistic tracers to the heavy machine guns like MG42 and 30cal. Those tracers are modified version of original tracers from WCPv.2.4 mod - very big thank's to it's author WiCoPP.


CHANGES ADDED TO VERSION 2.3

1. Your walking and running speed now depends on the realistic weight of the weapon You are currently carrying, i.e. when You carry Bren (about 8 kg) You move a little slower than when You carry MP44 (about 6 kg) and much slower than when You carry M1 Carbine (about less then 3 kg).


CHANGES ADDED TO VERSION 3

1. Loadout realisticly changed. You never start a mission with two main weapons, only one main weapon and a handgun like Colt, TT30 or Webley. Also every weapon in the game is at least once included into loadout, so now You will also start missions with weapons like BAR, Carbine, PPS42 or Webley.
