Here's a nice little mod for use primarily by the vendors of game centers, net cafes, etc. The mod removes the button in the multi-player menu that allows players to view the CD key of the game, so you can rest assured your key won't be monopolized by thieves. ;) And, of course, you can always use this at home if, as the author says, you have "really bad friends." :P Whatever the case, if you need to protect your CD key, download this little gem today!

1. WHAT IT IS

This mod removes the key code menu so others can't steal your cd-key. This is more of a Net Cafe/Game Center mod rather than a home one (unless you have some really bad friends :P).

2. CHANGES

In version 2.0 there is a bug fixed where you could had access to the CD-Key through the menu when you were connected to an MP server.

3. WHAT IT DOES

It renames a file inside the "main\iw_06.iwd" archive and installs a file called "iw_16.iwd".

4. INSTALLATION
-----------------
First make a backup copy of "main\iw_06.iwd" file. Just run cod2_cd-key_locker.exe, select "Call of Duty 2\Main" folder, hit "Next->Start" and you're done.

5. UNISTALLATION

Simply remove "main\iw_16.iwd" from the "Call of Duty 2\Main" directory and replace the backup copy you made of the "main\iw_06.iwd" file.

6. IS IT SAFE?

NOPE! It just prevents the lammers from seeing your cd-key through the game menu. Anyone can get access to your cd-key by simply editing the iw_06.iwd file and deleting the "iw_16.iwd" file, or by messing arround with registry.
