File Description
Here's a pretty neat name script for CoD2 that features not only the coded part into which you can easily program your name but also some suggestions for some further fun. :) It's hard to describe exactly what it does, but one hint is that it flashes your name around, explodes, does little "1up" signs and whatnot, if that helps at all. :P Anyway, it's a very small file, so just download it now, and figure it out yourself! :D

After downloading, simply place it in your activision/call of duty 2/main folder. | | | | 2. Open with Notepad and replace the word NAMEHERE with your actual name, and tag if | | you want | | | | 3. If you want to change anything, be careful, cause it could screw everything up. | | | | 4. save the folder with your name in it and pull up Call Of Duty 2. | | | | 5. once in your profile, pul down the console [~] and type \bind (key) exec name.cfg. | | This means that this key shall forever be binded to the execution of this file. | | | | 6. Now that this is set, create your own server or go to an empty one to test it. | | (reason why at limitations) Push TAB and then press the key you binded it to | | | | 7. If it works, then great. If not, see troubleshooting. | | | | _____________ | |/ LIMITATIONS \___________________________________________________ | | \| | Here are some of the limitations to the name scripts: | | | | •Round based games like Search & Destroy won't work. | | | | •It's highly recomended that you don't do it while the game is playing, for the way | | it works might get people angry at you. Only do it at the end when the scores are | | up. | | | | •The name scripts must be saved in notepad form. If not, it won't work at all. | | | | ______________ | |/ HOW IT WORKS \__________________________________________________ | | \| | The way this thing works is it changes the name at a rapid pace,without leaving the | | game. this means that every time you press that button, about 50 name changes pop up | | at the bottom of your screen, and there's no way to stop it. This script must finish | | before you can do anything else. If you press it accidently, just appologize, and | | hope they don't kick or ban you.;) | | | | _________________ | |/ TROUBLESHOOTING \_______________________________________________ | | \| | Here are two things that often happen to me and a way to fix them: | | | | 1. If it says unknown cmd at the bottom of the screen, then you probably didn't spell | | the words 'name' or 'wait' right in the scripts. | | | | 2. If nothing happens whe you press the binded key, press console [~] and try again. | | If it says "couldn't exec name.cfg" then you might have misspelled the name of | | your script or entered it incorrectly into the console. Besides the scripts, it seems to me that many people don't know how to change the | | color of their names, and that bugs me. so heres a list of colors for COD2: | | | | ^1= Red | | ^2= Green | | ^3= Yellow | | ^4= Blue | | ^5= Light Blue | | ^6= Purple | | ^7= White | | ^9= Grey` | | ^0= Black | | | | ^8 gives you a special combonation, depending on what level you're on. | | | | American= Light Green | | Russian= Pinkish Red | | British= Med.
