After-Hourz.com Development Team presents: "Barbarossa". The Blitzkrieg has begun! The men and machines of Panzer Group 2 are racing across Western Russia. Minsk has fallen, hundreds of thousands of troops and vehicles have been destroyed, captured, and dispresed across forests, swamps and fields along 1,000 miles of front. The Russian Army has turned to fight, once again, now digging in and preparing positions along the Berezina River, east of Minsk on the road to Smolensk and eventually, Moscow. Can the broken infantry and armor regiments of the 4th Army pull together a solid defense? Can they stop the Panzers here, at the Berezina? Can you take on the challenge to Shatter the regrouping defense and be the first Panzer over the Berezina? Is it you who can be the KV-1 Commander to single-handedly stop and destroy multiple Panzers on the fields before the river?

Offering 8 new vehicles and stationary weapons, 'Barbarossa' depicts the head on collision of the 17th Panzer Division with mixed infantry and armor units of the staggered Russian 4th Army as they try to hold back Guderian's spearhead. Public_beta1 offers you the chance to play the ultimate Multi-player conflict in CONQUEST version 3.0 as both sides struggle over wood lots, fields, and villages. Drive all-new custom tanks and defend with anti-tank guns while the infantry goes head-long into the fight. Beta1 offers a heavy dose of our vehicle package. Our full release will bring even more options to the table. Beta1 supports three game types; Conquest, Base Assault, and Capture the Flag. Additional gametypes will follow.

            DEVELOPER STATEMENT:
=========================================================

VERSION BETA 1:

* This is NOT intended to be a *FINAL* release.  This is a
release for public beta play and to gather feedback from players
and server admins alike.
* There may be some texture problems on moving tank parts.  These 
are known issues and will be corrected.

*** VITAL INFORMATION ****
* Gamestate is all the information needed to initially transmit game state
  information from the server to the client. There is a fixed maximum 
  size to this data of around 30,000 bytes instituted by IW/GMI.  When you
  exceed this limit you get a "Max_Gamestate_Chars_Exceeded" error.
  Gamestate includes ALL scripts for the map, EFX, Vehicles, and ALL models.  
  Mods and other 'enhancements' contribute to this load.  Each player 
  joining contributes.  Many custom maps and projects are running into 
  this limit.  The only suggestion is too remove some or all mods that may
  add data size.
* IF your server runs mods like Merciless, AWE and/or TotalWar, it is 
  highly unlikey Barb will run simultaneously due to Max_Gamestate limit.
* Please report any problems you have with specific mods, maps, etc. 
  that may cross this limit.  We would like to compile a set of guidelines 
  for server-admins to make things easier to manage.
* This error has not occured in repeated testing
  Servers may experience this error if running one or more mods.
  It is suggested that IF this error occurs, remove one mod at a time until
  the map will load and complete a rotation.  
* IF Max_Gamestate error occurs, it will most likely be in BAS mode.  
  BAS requires far more data size resources than CTF or CNQ.
  IF your server experiences this error.  Please report it in
  our forums at http://www.after-hourz.com/forums.

* MULTI-PLAYER CNQ (CONQUEST) NOTES:

* Barbarossa is designed from cNQ version 3.0 and will NOT run in prior 
  versions.  CNQ available at After-Hourz.com.  This version introduces 
  'capture zones' to the gametype.  Players must be 'inside' the zone 
  to activate a capture.  Multiple team members increase the capture 
  speed.  Enemies decrease it incrementally.
* For CNQ, there are several ONE-TIME ONLY spawning tanks for each team.  
  This will give both teams, especially the Russians, an modest armor 
  boost to start the round.  After these tanks are destroyed, they will 
  NOT respawn until the next round.  Learn which ones they are and be 
  careful with them.  Always assault with infantry support when possible.

            INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

     INSTALLATION:
     
     2 files are required to run Barbarossa for both servers and players. 
     Both are available from www.after-hourz.com:
     
     Place	mp_uo_barbarossa_beta1.pk3 	in your Call of Duty/UO directory
		zzz_ahz_vehicle_pack1_beta1.pk3 in your Call of Duty/UO directory
		
     SERVER ADMINS:
     While it will run and play well in other gametypes, this 
     map is built and tuned to run best using the Conquest TDM (CNQ)
     gametype. Server admins who wish to run it in this mode will
     need the CNQ version 3.0 gametype files for their servers. Clients do not 
     need this file. It can be obtained from the Conquest TDM home
     page at After Hourz, http://www.after-hourz.com/cod/cnq.php.

     LOADING MAP:
     Type this command:  /map mp_uo_barbarossa_beta1
     
     HELP:
     On rare occasions some players may have problems loading the map. 
     If this occurs, try the following:
     
     Start COD:UO, and bring down your console using the tilde ("~") key.
     At the prompt type this:
     	 /seta com_hunkmegs "256"
     	 
     Now try to restart the game again. If you have any other problems
     email the author or stop by the After Hourz forums and we'll be 
     happy to help.

KNOWN ISSUES:
- Lighting.  This is NOT a *full* lighting compile.
- Some textures on moving parts of tanks may be improper.  These are being 
  corrected for future releases.
- Not that any of you read this far in a 'readme' file, but if you have, 
  please leave comments at after-hourz.com forums.
