Have you ever played Call of Duty and though, wouldn't it be cool to play as a different allied team on your favorite map? Make sure that there are no other mods installed, if there are remove them from the Main folder. If you do not know where the Main folder is, the default installation path for it is C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\Main You will know that you are sucessful when you connect into your own server or create your own and see a little message in the gamemode menu "You are runnning Colonel Cow's Custom CoD v 1 by Colonel Cow". Note, possibly you may never use the CCCC.cfg file, but it is good to have extracted it just in case you do happen to use it. For more information about the .cfg file and what it does, etc, please read Precautions and then Additional Information. ---------------------------------------- 4. CVAR LIST ---------------------------------------- Here is where the new cvars and their abilities will be explained. There are 4 new cvars, providing 2 main functions, the ability to change the default allied team for the map and what uniform the allies wear (which opens up new abilites). The list will tell you what new cvars there are, what they exactly do, when to use them and possible combos with other cvars. Remember that to make this a server-side only mod to make sure that you turn off the Auto Download ability on your server and all of the people who join (however after getting the " Cannot download this file" error they will understand what to do) and that your server is not pure. This readme assumes that people already know how to enter cvars properly into their servers. ------ CVAR 1: cccc_setalliedteam ------ CVAR to type into console: cccc_setalliedteam What does it do?: This cvar allows you to override the team set by the map Example: "set cccc_setalliedteam russian" This will override every map's allied team and make the allies russian when played. How to reset: Cannot really be done, once you set it once you must set it to the original for the next map each time before it loads (e.g. if your server had the map mp_pavlov next in the rotation, you would have to set cccc_setalliedteam russian before the map loaded. If the next map were mp_carentan, you would have to set cccc_setalliedteam american before the map loaded, etc). If you restart the server you will not need to do this. Possible values: "american" This will make the allies for each map american "british" This will make the allies for each map british "russian" This will make the allies for each map russian ------ CVAR 2: cccc_setTEAMsoldiervariation ------ CAR to type into console: cccc_setTEAMsoldiervariation where TEAM equals these values for the appropriate team: us = Americans british = British russian = Russians What does it do?: It allows you to change the outfit of the allies if the team on the map is the default one for the map, this command will not work if the cvar cccc_setalliedteam is set to some team other than the default team for the map, (e.g. default team on mp_pavlov is russian, so for this command to work on mp_pavlov the cvar cccc_setalliedteam would either have to be blank, not set, or cccc_setalliedteam russian) and the cvar fits the default team (e.g. cccc_setussoldiervariation would change the outfit if the team was American) Example: "set cccc_setussoldiervariation russnorm" would change the outfit of the americans on every default american map with the team set as american to the outfit of the russians How to reset: Type "set cccc_setTEAMsoldiervariation normal". Possible values: "normal" This will make the outfit the default for the team set "winter" This will make the outfit the default winter for the team set (if applicable, see "Additional Information" to see what countries have a winter outfit) "amernorm" This will make the outfit of the team the American Airborne "amerwinter" This will make the outfit of the team the Wint. American Suit "britishnorm" This will make the outfit of the team the Default British "russnorm" This will make the outfit of the team the Russian Conscript "russwinter" This will make the outfit of the team the Wint. Russ. Conscript "russvetnorm" This will make the outfit of the team the Vet. Russian "russvetwinter" This will make the outfit of the team the Wint. Vet. Russian "britishcommando" This will make the outfit of the team the Brit. Commando "britishcommandowinter" This will make the outfit of the team the Wint. Brit Commando NOTE: DO NOT USE THE FOLLOWING VALUES IF THE TEAM IS... American = "amernorm", "amerwinter" British = "britishnorm" Russian = "russnorm", "russwinter" AND INSTEAD REPLACE WITH THE VALUE "normal" (and "winter", if applicable) ---------------------------------------- 5. PRECAUTIONS ---------------------------------------- Before you ever start up your server with these cvars, you should test them yourself so that way you get the hang of them and do not accidentally crash your server. Here is a list of rules you should follow and reminders: 1. NEVER WRITE ANY CHANGES YOU MAKE TO YOUR .CFG FILE! This way if you ever make a mistake you can restart your server and start off normal again. If you ever choose to create a pattern WHICH YOU HAVE TESTED AND ARE SURE THAT YOU WANT TO SAVE IT then you can use the CCCC. cfg file. For more info on how to edit & set the CCCC.cfg file, please see Additional Information. DO NOT USE THE SETA COMMAND! 2. NEVER PLAY THE MODES SD & RE WHEN YOU HAVE THESE CVARS ACTIVATED! They will cause your server to crash. If you choose to play the SD & RE modes and have only used the command set, then you can restart your server and you will be able to play them without trouble. It is recommended that you disable voting on your server to prevent people accidentally voting for one of thse gametypes. (NOTE: The game mode BEL may also not work with these cvars, it is best to test it with multiple people before putting it in your rotation) 3. NEVER SET THE CVAR cccc_setTEAMsoldiervariation AND THEN RESTART THE SAME MAP WHEN PEOPLE ARE PLAYING/CONNECTED IN ANY WAY! This will cause your server to crash. If you want to set the cvar while playing already then use the cvar "map MAPNAME" to start another map and the changes will take effect, where MAPNAME is the name of the map you want to change to OTHER THAN THE MAP YOU ARE CURRENTLY PLAYING. If your server allows voting, you should change the map right after entering in the cvar in case people on your server start a vote to restart the map, which will also screw up the server. 4. NEVER SET THE CVAR cccc_setalliedteam AND THEN RESTART THE SAME MAP WHEN PEOPLE ARE PLAYING /CONNECTED IN ANY WAY! For more info on how to avoid this read above AGAIN, BEFORE EVER SETTING UP A SERVER PUBLICALLY, YOU SHOULD TEST THE CVARS AND LEARN HOW TO WORK THEM OFFLINE, SO THAT WAY YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO AND NOT TO DO. ALSO, THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT THERE ARE BUGS NOT MENTIONED HERE, TRY TESTING MANY COMBINATIONS AND SEE IF YOU GET AN ERROR. IF YOU GET AN ERROR ON SOMETHING NOT MENTIONED HERE, PLEASE EMAIL ME SO I CAN PUT IT IN THE NEXT VERSION. ---------------------------------------- 6. ADDITONAL INFORMATION ---------------------------------------- Teams that have a Winter suit: American Russian Using the CCCC.cfg file This file is used if you want to write your settings to a file. It is a better alternative to using the seta command, because if you ever want to reset your settings, you can always delete them out of this file, unlike with the seta command which stores the info in the game and because some of the commands cannot be reset with a value, you would have those ones stuck forever until you deleted this mod. Even if you put the mod back in after removing, the commands would start working again. The CCCC.cfg file is easy to work with, here is what you do: First, check the values of the cvars that you want to enter. Once you have them, place them in the correct cvar's "" symbols (e.g. if I wanted to set cccc_setussoldier variation to have the Russian Veteran Winter suit, I would type in russvetwinter between the "" symbols to the right of the cvar). Now, save this file and then go to your console. There, type in the command exec CCCC.cfg This will make the game read the cfg file until the server application/game is quit. So you will not have to manually set it, it will just take effect on it's own since it now reads this .cfg file. NOTE: When you typed this in, you still cannot restart the map when people are in your server. It is best to type this in right when you server starts up, so that way you can start a new map safley before anyone connects. If you are running your server and you want to change something that you set in the cfg file, then just type in the command like instructed above. It will override anything set in the .cfg file. Also every time you quit your server program/game you will have to enter in the exec command if you want the .cfg to take effect. ---------------------------------------- 7.
