Boonstra ___________________________________________________ DESCRIPTION The KP sound mod replaces a number of original COD:WAW sounds, mostly weapons, footsteps, gear, whizbys, impacts & vehicles for some of the best I could sample from sources like: - Band of Brothers (2001) - Kokoda (2006) - Saving Private Ryan (1998) - The Thin Red Line (1998) - Stalingrad (1993) - Flags of Our Fathers (2006) - Der Untergang - aka Downfall (2004) - Enemy at the Gates (2001) - Saints and Soldiers (2003) - Windtalkers (2002) - The Great Raid (2006) ___________________________________________________ INSTALL NOTES _______SINGLE PLAYER Extract the "KP_Sound_v1" folder in your C:Documents and Settings[your user account]Local SettingsApplication DataActivisionCoDWaWmods * if the "mods" directory doesn't exist, create it. _______MULTIPLAYER Make a copy of "KP_Sound_v1" folder in your C:Documents and Settings[your user account]Local SettingsApplication DataActivisionCoDWaWmods and rename "KP_Sound_v1": mp_KP_Sound_v1 Once in the game, the sound mod can now be launched from the Mods section. If you want your Cod:WAW to start up with the mod automatically loaded, I have included 2 shortcut batch files (SP and MP), which should be placed in your "Call of Duty - World at War" folder. _______UNINSTALL: simply delete the "KP_Sound_v1" and "mp_KP_Sound_v1" folders from your C:Documents and Settings[your user account]Local SettingsApplication DataActivisionCoDWaWmods ___________________________________________________ INFO FOR SERVER ADMINS & MODDERS The package contains 6 custom CSV files which reside in the soundaliases" folder: - KP_Weapons.csv - KP_Common.csv - KP_Character.csv - KP_Projectiles.csv - KP_Vehicles.csv - KP_Multiplayer_Common.csv + a custom sound folder containing the new sounds. The custom CSVs only redirect the original sound aliases to a new custom sound location. For example, replacing the German Kar98k rifle sound: Original weapon.csv: weap_kar98k_fire_plr,,SFX/Weapon/Rifle/Kar_98/Fire/wpn_kar98_st_f.wav Custom kp_weapon.CSV: weap_kar98k_fire_plr,,custom/Weapon/Rifle/Kar_98/Fire/wpn_kar98_st_f.wav So no weapon definition files, gsc's or other files are changed or affected by this mod. ___________________________________________________ Although care was taken to make this 'sound' mod :-) I obviously cannot garantee it will work on every unique configuration out there. Be aware that some single player missions tend to hick up on mods in general, I hope this issue will be fixed with patch 1.2 and so forth. So use this mod at your own risk.
