MERCILESS BLOOD MOD v.5 & AWE MOD FOR COD 1.1 MULTIPLAYER (30.4 MB)

This is a modified Additional War Effects (AWE 1.4.4 Beta 5) mod, and Merciless v.5 Blood mod modified to work with CoD 1.1. See below for more info.

THIS IS A SERVER AND CLIENT SIDE MOD. MUST BE USED BY BOTH.  


Features used from both mods

- Exploding Heads
- Headless Player Bodys with Blood spurting
- Blood Pools form under ripped off head
- Blood splatter on screen.
- Enhanced blood "puff" effect when players get hit.
- Chunky gibs will randomly fall to the ground and leave blood stains, 
  the chunks will now leave blood stains when they land, and they will
  stay for about 10 seconds or so before disappearing.
- Blood stains and blood particles will behave accordingly to the 
  direction of the impact.
- BloodFX coded to created unique & random blood stains each time.
- Facial blood Texture.
- Enhanced - more realistic Blood dripping.

Some features not working because CoD added them in later patches are:

- Disable Freelook Spectating
- Disable spectating enemy players
- Punkbuster (GUIDS) - is that a good or a bad thing? ;P

The Clan iO Server Admin Mod (clansio_sa.zip) will work as far as 
disabling killcam, but I didn't add it because you can do that by forcing 
respawn anyway (set scr_forcerespawn "1"). As far as their force spectate 
of players only on their team, I couldn't seem to get it to work right, 
maybe someone else will.

I know there are less than a hundered CoD 1.1 servers left out there, but 
I've been tinkering with getting these two mods to work with 1.1 since 
before 1.4 came out, and I just got around to finishing it. ;P
Some changes from AWE 1.4.4 final added.
Also added grenade sound explosion changes.
Thanks to Sgt. Cork for help with beta testing.

Game: Call of Duty
Mod Type: Adds enhanced blood effects to the game
Revision: 5 
Compatibility: works in both single & multiplayer. Multiplayer only works on "non pure" servers. Not testedin conjunction with any other mods running simulaneously. It should work with any other mod as long as the other mod(s) don't have code to alter the blood.

New/Fixed in this version:

- Recoded just about everyting from v2, now works 100% in multiplayer as well as single player! 
- Remade all the blood textures to make them appear much more real 
-  Based on feedback from the 'beta' I have left the chunks in, but reduced the size,frequency and texture brightness to more match the blood stains. The chunks will now leave blood stains when they land, and they will stay for about 10 seconds or so before disappearing

Make sure you set scr_awe_cookable_grenades to 1 to get the cookable grenades to work properly.
(Merciless uses cookable grenades by default so you only have to set the cvar if you run Merciless.)


Override grenade count
----------------------
To override the grenade count with scr_awe_grenade_count you have to install cookable grenades from
AWE or you will not be able to set a higher value than 3.


Random maprotation
------------------
Enable this by setting scr_awe_random_maprotation to 1.

This will read all entries in sv_maprotation at the start of each game and set sv_maprotationcurrent
one of them by random.

Be aware that you either have to specify the gametype for each map in the maprotation or for none.

For example:

set sv_maprotation "map mp_brecourt map mp_carentan map mp_depot"
... and ...
set sv_maprotation "gametype tdm map mp_brecourt gametype tdm map mp_carentan gametype dm map mp_depot"
... is valid while ...
set sv_maprotation "gametype tdm map mp_brecourt map mp_carentan gametype dm map mp_depot"
... is not.

If you want to use the same map with different gametypes you have to specifiy the map in the map rotation
for each gametype. For example:

set sv_maprotation "gametype tdm map mp_depot gametype sd map mp_depot gametype dm map mp_depot"
... this maprotation will only play mp_depot but will randomize between tdm, sd and dm.

When you start up the server it will always play the first map in the rotation but as soon as that map
ends it will rotate to a random map.


Cvars (cvars and descriptions have moved to awe_default.cfg)
----------------------------------------------------
See the included awe.cfg for more info.

- awe.cfg is an example config file with quite sane value and it's a good start.

(This version expects you to have one of the cookable grenade mods installed.)


Overriding cvars for gametypes and/or maps
------------------------------------------
Since I also use an improved version of Ravir's cvar handling code you can override the settings
for specific gametypes and/or maps by adding the gametype and/or mapname the cvar.

Example:

set scr_awe_mortar_hq_mp_carentan "1"	// will override
set scr_awe_mortar_hq "2"		// which will override
set scr_awe_mortar_mp_carentan "3"	// Which will override
set scr_awe_mortar "4"

In the above example all maps, except mp_carentan, will have 4 mortars unless they have gametype hq.
All maps, except mp_carentan, will have 2 mortars when gametype is hq.
The map_carentan will have 3 mortars for all gametypes except for gametype hq where there will be
only 1 mortar.


Know Issues
-----------
Yes I know the C47 is not a bomber. It's the plane that drops the airborne soldiers.
But I don't want to change the name of the cvar's now since that would cause problems for
people upgrading from erlier versions of AWE, so I have to live with the shame. ;)

Grenade cooking will fallback to non-AWE mode if you touch an MG42 or a PTRS41 while you start
cooking the grenade.


Changes

1.4.4	PRM grenades and modified PTRS41 now built into main AWE pk3 file.
	The stay times of popped helmets and heads are now obsolete. The last 10 helmets and the last 6 heads will stay now.
	Option to disable minefields
	Changed shaders for bullethit_glass and bullethit_glass2 so that bulletholes work on Nvidia cards
	Added some hardcoded (non configurable) scoring for CTF.
	Fixed the serverinfo menus in the PRM4 addon (PRM bug)

COD 1.1 Server Setup
====================================================================

Right click on the multiplayer shortcut, click on properties. Find the 
target box and add the following line at the end:

 +exec default.cfg

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Example: 
"C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\CoDMP.exe" +set dedicated 2 +exec default.cfg
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Make sure you have a space between the "CoDMP.exe" and "+set",
and the "dedicated 2" and "+exec".

If you use the map_rotate command in your default.cfg file, then don't use 
it in the target box of CoDMP.exe shortcut.

Save and close shortcut.

With this mod you DON"T have to put "+set fs_game merciless" to make it Merciless/AWE.


Your default.cfg and other config files should be put in your
Call of Duty/main folder.
