It's unclear to me as to what exactly is new in this final version of the SWAT Mod for Call of Duty, but who cares? It's an update to an awesome total conversion, and that's all I need to know! :) There's tons included in this mod, way too much for me to go over in detail, but my favorite part of the mod was always the cool weapon and gadget selection. I love all those MP5 SMGs and super powerful sniper rifles, as well as the night vision, flashbangs, and everything else. 1. Introduction

Basic game-play Instructions:

Gameplay of SWAT mod final will be based on the 6 new gametypes; Search and destroy,Team elimination,ViP Escort, Hitman, Team Arrest and Got Money!?!. The addition features: Flashlight, NightVision and Adrenaline rune will also control the gameplay tactics. This version also allows you to play on the stock call of duty maps.

Flashlight & NightVision: (tool)
Press and hold the "use" button to switch them on and off. The "use" button by default is "F". 
They are helpful in dark areas and quite bright if used in lighted areas. 
There is a battery meter, please use them wisely and conservatively.
The Flashlight switches off upon changing weapon as realisim. 

Adrenaline Rune: (item)
A flashing green medicine bottle located in maps, there is only one per map. 
Once picked up, you will have a period of health regeneration, you will realize it is almost used up from the rate of your heart beat that you hear. 
This item will respawn in a while after picked up. You will see the server-admin cvar controls in the SWAT cvar command list. 

VIP ESCORT: (gametype)
SWAT Objective: To escort the VIP (person with highest score on SWATÄs team) alive to the escape zone marked on the radar with a red circle. 
Criminal Objective: To kill the VIP being escorted by the SWAT at all cost. Must not let him escape. 
Score: SWAT scores if VIP escapes, criminals score if the VIP dies before escaping. 
Round: No max number of rounds, based on how fast the teams play. 
Respawn: Everyone respawns according to the respawn cycle meter on the left of the screen. 

Hitman: (gametype) 
Teams Objectives: The first person who kills someone on the opposite team will become the Hitman. The team then must protect the Hitman to grow points for their team. The killer of the Hitman will become the next Hitman and grow points for their team. The Hitman will appear on everyone as radar after a while. 
Score: The score is based on how many players the hitman kills.
Round: There are no rounds. 
Respawn: Respawn is instant. 

Got Money?: (gametype) 
Teams Objectives: Each team has a money case located near their spawn point. You must either kill the other team to gain money or steal money from the other teamÄs money case. You can only hold a max number of dollars. You must then deposit the money u carry into your teamÄs money case to grow points for your team, as well as for your self. You should protect your money case from the enemy. 
Score: The score will be the amount of money in your teamÄs account. Both teams starts with $100K, it is possible that one team can have 0 money. 
Round: There are no rounds. 
Respawn: Everyone respawns according to the respawn cycle meter on the left of the screen. 

Team Arrest: (gametype) 
Teams Objectives: Each team must wound the other teamÄs members and arrest them withing a period of time. If not arrested in time the wounded will respawn elsewhere. The objective is to arrest everyone on the other team. Note that team members can free teammates. The arrested players will all appear on both teams radar with SWAT as blue and Criminals as red. 
Score: The team who wins a round gains a score. 
Round: No max number of rounds, based on how fast teams can play. 
Respawn: You can respawn if you werent arrested in a period of time or you were freed by your teammate. Once arrested, you can not change teams or weapons. You may only do that while you are not arrested.

   Team Elimination:(gametype)
Teams Objectives: Each team has a set number of lives and the winner is the team with the last man standing.
Score: The team who wins a round gains a score. 
Round: No max number of rounds, based on how fast teams can play. 
Respawn: You can respawn only if you have a life left.Lives are indicated by the hearts on the top left of the screen.




2. Known and avoidable issues

No weapon sounds
Problem: When in game you cannot hear weapon sounds.
Cause: This happens when you try to load the game with coduomp.exe instead of codmp.exe.
Solution: Load the game through codmp.exe not coduomp.exe.

Missing sound files
Problem: Missing over 100 sound files when connecting to server.
Cause: Resetting the key controls to default after installation of SWAT mod, this resets the voice command keys as well. SWAT does not use the voice commands therefore the sound files are missing.
Solution: This can be avoided by instead of resetting your configuration to default

Linux Server: game.mp.i386.so missing or not found
Problem: On start server.
Cause: Linux unqiueness, but the SWAT mod should obtain its needed files on linux just as it would on windows.
Possible Solution: Copy and paste the game.mp.i386.so from main folder into your SWATFINAL folder. Make sure you set: "+set fs_game swat".
[!!!IMPORTANT!!!] PLEASE READ THE LINUX INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION IN THE OTHER SECTION OF THIS ARTICLE.

SV_SetConfigValueForKey: overflow
Problem: Gets this error when starting a server or between map change on a running server.
Cause: Too many Cvars referenced by too many gametypes and other Cvars.
Possible Solution: Try to host your server using a server rotation set of only one or two gametypes. Most CoD public servers plays only a few gametypes, such as the TDM server, HR clan SD&CTF server. There are examples of rotations at the end of this article you can take and add to your own server.
[!!!IMPORTANT!!!] PLEASE READ THE LINUX AND WINDOWS INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION IN THE OTHER SECTION OF THIS ARTICLE.

Max ammo mismatch for "weapon" set it to # but already set to 999
Problem: Occurs on joining a game.
Cause: Custom scripts or weapons in main folder.
Solution: Good modifications should have their own folder, to avoid conflicts with other modifications. Both servers and clients, please remove the custom files from your main folder set your server to pure and disallow auto-download, custom maps are perfectly fine as long as they dont have other custom scripts in them that replaces the CoD stock scripts.

Hunk_allocatetempmemory: failed on ########, needs ########
Problem: Occurs on map loads.
Cause: The client Cvar "com_hunkmegs" is set too low, by default it is "128", this might not be enough for swat_garreton if your settings are set to max.
Solution: Set "/com_hunkmegs 256" on your console, close your game, and restart.




3. Win & Linux Installation Guide
1. if you have already installed beta 095 or less then you must delete your swat folder and all the swat files before installing this new one.
   This is a fresh install and doesnt require any of the previous patches.

Windows Client Installation Guide:

1)	Check to see if you have Call of Duty version 1.5 installed.Note:The call of duty patch and the call of duty united offensive patch are different you need the call of duty.
2)	Check to see if you have any other mods in your main folder, there shouldn’t be, valid mods should have their own folder.
3)	Download the swatfinal from www.modernconflict.net or other mirrors, make sure the download isnt corrupted.
4)	Extract the zip files to your call of duty folder, find your Call of Duty folder on your computer. Once installation completed, there should be a "swatfinal" folder under "Call of Duty" folder.
5)	Launch the game with codmp.exe, NOT codupmp.exe. Select the mod "SWATfinal" and run.
6)	Once loaded, goto options and RESET your key configurations.
7)	If you resetted your graphics settings, you would need to make sure you have "com_hunkmegs" at value of "160" or higher, for some of our maps requires more memory when playing under high settings. Recommended value of "256" for people with more than 256MB of system memory allocated for programs.
8)	TURN OFF AUTO DOWNLOAD.
9)	Dont forget to name yourself, or you would appear as "UnnamedN00b" :D
10)	If you do not wish Evil servers to change your client Cvars, togo your swatfinal folder, and locate config_mp.gsc and right click, set it to read only.
11)	When joining a server from Xfire or All seeing eye, make sure they are set to load codmp.exe to run SWAT instead of coduomp.exe.
12)	Turn off pure in your Call of Duty server browser filters to see SWAT servers. Have fun!.... and report buggies ^____^ thx!
13)  You can also find swat servers by using the all seeing eye at www.udpsoft.com

There is a known issue with "SV_SetConfigValueForKey: overflow" by starting a server with rotation that has all gametypes which overloads cvars since there are so many.
6)	Check the Cvars below in this article for SWAT mod and set your server Cvars before continuing.
7)	If running server as non-dedicated, launch the game with codmp.exe, NOT codupmp.exe. Select the mod "SWATfinal" and run with autodownload disabled and pure, and perform all the needed steps as dedicated server. You will have to set the server map rotation in your config_mp.cfg instead.
8)	You might want to make "com_hunkmegs" a value of "160" or higher, recommended value of "256" for servers that arent dedicated and with more than 256MB of system memory allocated for programs.
9)	ONCE AGAIN! TURN OFF AUTO DOWNLOAD.
10) you should have a swatfinal folder in your call of duty folder in the swatfinal folder you should have theese files....

Linux Server Installation Guide:

0)	Make sure you server is stopped, $> ps, and kill PID of your server.
1)	Check to see if your server installation of Call of Duty is version 1.5.
2)	Check to see if you have any other mods in server's main folder, there shouldnt be, valid mods should have their own folder. Remove other mods and custom files from main.
3)	Backup your current server config file.
4)	Make sure swatfinal is properly installed on your windows computer, read above for instructions.
5)	Make sure you see a "swatfinal" folder under Call of duty's root folder on your own computer after installation of client.
6)	Make a copy of the "swatfinal" folder under Call of duty's root folder onto your desktop, it should be around 218MBs.
7)	Upload this "swatfinal" folder now on your desktop onto your Linux server's Call of Duty's root folder, NOT MAIN FOLDER! So once you are done you should see "swatfinal" folder under your Call of Duty's root folder with all the files inside same as on your own computer. $> ls -l.
8)	Locate the dedicated.cfg in your "swatfinal" folder. Edit the dedicated.cfg example with your own server information. Run server pure with PB, DISALLOW Autodownload. Below are examples of map rotations, select one or make your own map rotations. 9)	Before you continue you might want to check the SWAT Cvars and Server rotation examples below in this article, and make sure you have everything set.
10)	Save your dedicated.cfg file. If you edited on your own computer, then upload your edited dedicated.cfg file to your server into "swatfinal" folder replacing the one thats there.
11)	On your server, COPY THE "game_mp_i386.so" FILE FROM YOUR "main" FOLDER TO YOUR "swatfinal" FOLDER THATS UNDER YOUR "Call of Duty" ROOT FOLDER.
12)	Edit the command line for your server initiation to: $> +set fs_game swat +exec dedicated.cfg
13)	Start your server.
14)	By the way, TURN OFF AUTO DOWNLOAD.
 15) you should have a swatfinal folder in your call of duty folder in the swatfinal folder you should have theese files....
