File Description

Here we have a server side mod which gives a special power to server admins. It gives admins the ability to enforces a player into a crouch. The player cannot stand, cannot go prone, and cannot jump as long as they are grounded. A message displays on the player's screen as follows:

"You have been grounded for ignoring server rules."

If you choose to release the grounded player, another message is displayed:

"Your grounding has been lifted. Please follow the rules on this server in the future."

This is a handy tool and comes in useful instead of kicking people out of the server :)

**This mod is for use with CoD 1.2 only. If you are running a CoD 1.1 server, please download
version 1.1 of this mod

--------------------------
This mod is designed for servers who wish to have an alternative to kicking players when trying
to enforce server rules. As a member of the [1stSF/17SS] I've been playing tactical realism for
about nine months starting in MOHAA and now in CoD. The one thing that has consistantly been a
problem is enforcing server rules, which can be pretty strict. Kicking everyone that disobeys
rules can leave the server pretty empty at times.

The patch released by Infinity Ward has helped to curb bunny-hopping, but it is still an
annoyance. Run-and-gun (rushing the enemy with guns blazing away) is another problem for some
servers that can't be addressed with a patch. Some servers may have their own set of rules that
need enforcing. This mod allows server admins the ability to "ground" players based on whatever
criteria they desire.

The penalty this mod enforces on a player is it forces that player into a crouch. The player
cannot stand, cannot go prone, and cannot jump as long as they are grounded. A message displays
on the player's screen as follows:

"You have been grounded for ignoring server rules."

If you choose to release the grounded player, another message is displayed:

"Your grounding has been lifted. Please follow the rules on this server in the future."

Hopefully this mod will help admins to enforce the rules on individual servers.

Changes since 1.1
-----------------
- Converted mod to work with CoD 1.2

Changes since 1.0
-----------------
- Fixed a reported problem with intermittent success using the mod. It wasn't effective on
players with higher client numbers.

***********************************************************************
How to use this mod:

-Place the .pk3 file in your server's Main folder

The commands are from RCON and are based on player client numbers.

-RCON commands to use:

set sv_killBunny # (where # is the player's client number)

This command will ground a player. As you can probably guess, this mod began as a bunny-hopper
killer. It's evolved into a general purpose enforcer, but I like the command "killBunny" so much
I decided to leave it.

set sv_releaseBunny #

This command will release the grounded player.

set sv_allowBunnies 1

This command will release all players from grounding. It does not display messages, but is meant
to be used when the last admin with RCON is leaving the server.

Note:
If a player leaves the server, their client number is no longer stored so the next person coming
in will not be restricted. This means the same player can come back in and be free unless they
are grounded again.

This mod is included in all versions of PRM 3.1 and above. It may not work with other mods that
have altered gametype files, use it at your own risk.

Known bugs:

- Some linux servers had a problem running version 1.1 of the mod. CoD 1.2 may have addressed
that issue, I don't know. Please let me know if the mod does not work on your server, and
provide as much detail as possible.
