During ApolyCon '06 held in Timonium, Maryland last July, Firaxis Games
Director of Creative Development Sid Meier, Designer/Programmer Soren
Johnson and Senior Producer Barry Caudill answered attendee questions
about the company, the Civilization series and computer strategy gaming
In the first of five parts released this past Monday, Meier takes center
stage to take about the Civ series' beginnings to CivII. In the final
minute or two, he hands it over to Johnson to continue the series story
at CivIII and eventually onto CivIV.
During ApolyCon '06 held in Timonium, Maryland this past July, Big Huge
Games (BHG) designer Paul Stephanouk gave a presentation to attendees on
the development of the company's premiere title, Rise of Nations, which
offered a glimpse into BHG's approach to game in general.
In the fifth of five parts, Stephanouk answers an attendee's question as
to what his favourite video game is and his view on digital distribution,
gives away a copy of the original RoN beta to another attendee who
correctly answers a trivia question -- and then beats him at a game of
"Rock, Paper, Scissors" -- and working with publisher Microsoft Game
Studios. Finally, Stephanouk is presented with something for him and the
other members of the BHG staff to enjoy.
