Ian Beck has written a preview of the Macintosh port of Civilization IV. [B]y all reports, this is a Civilization game designed with the new player (or the WarCraft III brand of strategy player) in mind, but also with a slew of exciting features with the veteran in heart, he prefaces. A short time later, he comments that the game`s gameplay is very similar to past games in the franchise, although it has also been expanded and modified in many ways to make it more strategic, and potentially more rewarding. In conclusion:
Incredible replayability, lots of strategy, addictive to the point of needing rehab, and a great multiplayer option all make [CivIV] a title to look forward to for anyone who enjoys a good bit of strategy.
