This is my First mod ever. I have added two map size options to the game. They are Xlarge at 160x100 and Giant at 192x120. The map setup times are (3 to 5 minutes) and (9 minutes) respectively. My processor is Amd Athlon XP at 1.24 Gh. You may go faster or slower depending on your processor.
#XHUGE and GIANT MOD #Created by Marvin 'Lord Magic' Davenport on 11/20/05 In short this is my first attempt at a mod of any kind for any game. I have added two extra options to the world size selection during the startup process. The settings are 40w and 25h at a 4X4 grid per cell for XHUGE. The settings are 48w and 30h at a 4X4 grid per cell for GiANT. This is a 160x100 map size and 192X120 map size respectively. In addition I changed the globeview to represent XHUGE. The default player is 13 for XHUGE. The default player is 15 for GIANT. If this is to small you can change the settings in the XHUGE and GIANT mod folder. Follow the path Assets\XML\Gameinfo\CIV4WorldInfo. Use notepad or wordpad to view the document. Scroll down till you see the XHUGE Or GIANT category. Change the values accordingly. Please note the height value needs to be lower than the width. Values that are equal will cause the game to stop at graphics initialization. P.S. There is considerable lag time during map generation for map sizes that are larger than the 40X25. The lag is 3 to 5 minutes on XP proffesional ,1.24 Ghz Amd Athlon,512 Mb of Ram for the 40x25 map. The 48X30 is close to 9 minutes. For sizes much larger than 40x25 You may get a virtual memory to low.(depends on your individual machine) If Your OS is capable it will kick you back to your desktop to resize. Just click back on to your game should be fine once the map reloads. 1.09 patch that was released speeds the load up a little but there is still a lag. P.S.2 For any further mods I make this mod will be included as a standard part. I have also included a terrain XML if you wish to edit the plots per cell. There is other stuff you can edit but I dont know what they do yet. All I know is numbers changed in the terrain xml effect all worldsizes.
