MESSAGE RECEIVED FROM CHINA CENTCOM-BEIJING 09:12

General! The Situation Is Critical! – At 8:54 The Famous Hero of our campaign against the GLA – General Chaing Kai-Shek - staged a Coup in the town of Nanjing with the aim of setting up a military dictatorship!

With most of our forces out of the country on further operations against the GLA, this event has the potential to destroy the People’s Republic, we must act immediately!

Situation Evaluation:

General Chaing is well dug in, but he has a critical weakness. His funding and power are being drawn from Nanjing’s Industrial Sector, access to which is blocked across the main road bridge by the General’s troops. However it is open to attack across a railway bridge to the south.

Chaing is too close to civilians to allow artillery strikes or mines. He has imposed a curfew and the buildings are packed full of people - however we may authorise EMP strikes if the fighting becomes too intense!

Battle Plan:

Your team will inset in the south east and cross the railway bridge to the west.

You will then overwhelm and occupy an outpost on the outskirts of the town. Killing all the guards will allow the transfer of the base to your control.

Using this as a base of operations you must equip your troops and crush the Coup as soon as possible.

Recommendations:

•	Use the railway bridge to attack the Industrial Sector
•	By destroying the facilities there the Coup will be crippled
•	The Oil Complex may provide you with a lucrative income if captured
•	The town is probably rigged with explosives so use troop crawlers
•	The General appears to be keeping troops in reserve in order to respond to potential situations – This leads to the possibility of staging decoy attacks to draw troops away from the main base
•	Chaing is sure to counter-attack once you attack the outpost so prepare defences as soon as possible
•	The defenders have hidden some tanks in the training ground east of Chaing’s base
•	Chaing is renowned for fighting hardest when his back is to the wall – you must push just as hard!
The following spy satellite images will help bring you up to speed - zoom in for detail.

The railway bridge due west of your insertion point will allow you to attack the Outpost without attracting attention. It should also allow you to attack the critical facilities in the Industrial Sector without the need to fight across the road bridge further north.

We believe the main roads (Black) offer a better angle of attack on the main compound, as any fighting down the side roads (Red) will be close quartered and exceptionally deadly.

NOTES:

To install the mission, copy and paste the whole folder into the “My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Data\Maps” Folder

This is a hard mission, the AI has been designed to give you a rough ride and the absence of artilary and other heavy support leads to messy street fighting, however push hard and the defences will fall.

The bomber that drops the EMP bomb is vulnerable to anti air troops on the road bridge. These will need to be cleared out if you want to use the bomb deeper in the city.

There is an issue with the initial movement of troops where certain enemy tank hunters feel the need to walk into the bottom left hand corner of the map before joining their squads. This should not affect game play, but it is odd and recommendations as to how to fix it would be greatly appreciated!

The scripting has been tested, but it is quite possible something has been overlooked. If there are any problems / issues with the AI - a report of the problem would be much appreciated.

Ah and appart from the name, this mission has nothing to do with the film ‘Big Trouble In Little China’.

Enjoy!
