1.  To install
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To install:

  1)  With the 'New Tech Mod R3'.zip unzipped you should be presented with 2 folders, namely:

        How to customise the mod         Explains how to customise the mod
        The mod                          The folder containing the mod

  2)  Open Windows Explorer and go to C: ----> Program Files ----> EA Games ----> Command and Conquer 
      Generals (this is presuming you instaled C&C to the default dircetory)
  3)  Open the folder called 'The mod'.
  4)  Inside should be 2 folders called 'Data' and 'Art'.  Place thess folders in the 'Command and Conquer 
      Generals' folder (The C:\Program Files\EA Games\Command and Conquer Generals folder)
  5)  Load up game


To remove:

  1)  Open Windows Explorer and go to C: ----> Program Files ----> EA Games ----> Command and Conquer 
      Generals (this is presuming you instaled C&C to the default dircetory)
  2)  There should be a folder called 'Art'.  Remove it.
  3)  There should also be a folder called 'Data'.  Open it.
  4)  In here should be a folder called 'INI'.  Remove it.
  5)  Still in the Data folder ther should be a folder called 'english'.  Open it.
  6)  Inside should be a CSF file.  Delete it but DO NOT delete the Movies folder.

2.  Multiplayer
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To use the mod in Multiplayer games BOTH sides will require the mod.  I have not tried the mod over the 
internet (I'm a Uni student and can't afford Broadband ;o) ).  However it has been tried and tested on 
Network games and it does work.

The best Sea map I've found as of yet for Multiplayer games IMO is 'Dread Island' by ZHaDuM 
(John Burzenski) You may want to download it.

4.  Changes to Game
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As mentioned: 
  The Black Napalm and the Gattling Cannon upgrades are now located in the Propaganda center
  The Scorpion Missile Upgrade are now located in the Black market

Further:
  The Stealth Fighter's damage and cost has gone up slightly
  The Scudstorm's damage has gone up slightly

Scaling
  The 'infantry units' (including civilians) have been scaled down to a more releastic size (personaly it 
  bugged me that the men were all 10" giants.  Now they're aprox about 6"5' which is closer to reality)


The new upgrades
  Sea Armour:      This improves the health of all sea vessels (bar the PT Boat) by 25%
  Sea Auto-Repair: Gives all sea vessels (bar the PT Boat) auto-repair
  Both cost $3,000 and are researched in either the, Strategy Center (U.S.), Propganda Center (China) or 
  Palace (GLA)

Rank points
  You now recieve 9 Rank Points rather than 7.  You recieve 1 Point for achiving 1st Rank & another for the 
  2nd Rank.  Then 2 points for achiving the 3rd Rank and another 2 Points for the 4th.  The Final 5th Rank 
  awards 3 Points

Armageddon weapons
  Such as Nukes, Particle Cannons etc have had there recharge time increased by 50% (so now the Nuke takes 
  9 minutes to reload instead of 6 minutes)

Colour changes
  New 'military' colours have been added to the Multiplayer menu and the default colours for the races have 
  been set to military colours

Camera
  Max Zoom extended slightly

5.  Changes since R2
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All the tooltips have been written and Toolbar pictures created

US Command Vehicle
  The CV can carry up to 8 soldiers and can call in a 'Carpet Bomb' strike

GLA Palace
  Can now hold one more unit, calls in a 'Black Market Nuke' and has all of its research tech transferred
  to the Black Market.  The cost has gone up to $4,000

GLA Black Market
  Now researches all the upgrades

GLA Airfield
  This is a new building that can be built.  It can be occupied with up to 9 soldiers and can build 'GLA 
  Planes'

GLA Hovercraft
  Removed the ship repair upgrade from GLA and alowed the Hovercraft to self repair when the 'Junk Repair'
  is purchased 

China Red Guard
  Have regained a Bayonet attack (instant kill melee attack)

China Command & Control
  This is a new building that can be built.  It can be occupied with up to 8 soldiers and can call in a 
  Napalm Strike

The GLA have gained a new purchasable science, the Terror Cell.  This is similar to Rebel Ambush but 
instead a small group of terrorists are created.

The Carpet Bomb has been replaced for a model that doesn't look as tacky

6.  Problems
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Two known:

World Eddittor: 
  Unfortunatly it won't work with the mod.  Simply rename or remove the INI folder temparly from the DATA 
  folder when using World Edditor and replace after.

But its saying:  Technical Fault every time I load it up???
  Simple question are you using the mod (namely INI file mods) in conjuction with the 'New Tech Mod'?  If 
  so that could be your reason. Try a fresh install if possible. I do know that C&C gets very upset if the 
  files in the INI folder (especialy in the object folder) have any illogical components.
  Your best bet is a fresh install and I hope that helps.

Note: You should use Hovercrafts to transport sea vessels built on land to the sea!!!!

7.  FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

***I like some of your units but I hate others.  Can't you remove X Y and Z units?

   No but you can.  I have written a short 'How to customise the mod' tutorial which shows you how to 
   easily customise the mod to your own personal preference.

   NOTE:  Please see the Folder 'How to Customise the Mod' if you want to:

      Remove the military colours from either Multiplayer or Singleplayer
      Change/remove units
      Change Superweapon load times
      Change the Zoom
      Change the number of Rank points you recieve
      Alter weapon damage
      Unit and building stats



***I've modified your mod can I release it?

   R3 was set to be the final release of this mod and as of such I don't mind if anybody releases there 
   own personal versions.  HOWEVER VERSIONS BASED ON MY MOD MUST HAVE AT LEAST: "Your mod by You BASED ON 
   THE 'NEW TECH MOD' BY CHRIS T HILL" written clearly in the readme file



***Can I host your mod?

   I am more than happy for any site to host my mod (providing obviously the readme is left in)



***This is the 3rd and final release.  Why?
   
   This was only ever ment to be a learning experience before I move into making a completely new mod.  
   I've gone as far as I want with this mod
