I'll be damned if anyone who put "other" comes up with a legal way of getting the game. Anyway, I got the game on DVD ROM (CoH:OF free with my graphics card!)

steam is basically an account based game downloading organizer. you get a steam account and download the client and can log in to read about news (mostly/mainly valve and steam based games like halflife and counterstrike but tons of others too), and use it to purchase and download games directly to your pc/account. so if you change computers and log in to your steam account somewhere else you can download the game there and play it. (not like you can have multiple people using the account though as you can only log in from one spot at a time.) it's got a ton of different features and it's pretty handy however sometimes (as with games like CoH) there can be problems installing mods and with ingame errors because reinstalls are a little weirder. (i guess lol, i have steam for some stuff (like cs and halflife) but have DVD editions of CoH)
