Show of hands...how many of you out there get a teensy bit annoyed at your opponant(s) rushing you and yours before you even have adequit defences set up? Although there is nothing wrong with this tactic, it does take a lot of the fun and enjoyment out of the game...

*counts hands* uh-huh, OK, read on...

If you were one of the ones that raised your hand, then the Turtle Mod is for you! This mod, which essentially forces a period of time that is a 'no-rush' period, will allow you to build your defenses without the worry of being attacked, another nifty aspect of this mod is that the no-rush time period is adjustable, so you can allow for different warmup times.

Some of the features of this mod include:

  • 4 different timers to choose from: 5, 10, 15 and 20 minutes.
  • Territory is divided equally at the start of the game.
  • Squads will auto-retreat if they enter enemy territory during the no-rush period.
  • All weapons are disabled during the no-rush period.
  • Squads cannot capture new territory during the no-rush period.

BuckyBoy has done a great job with this mod, and any kind of feedback, or constructive critism, I'm sure it would be appreciated.

Turtle Mod v2.01

Description:
This is a no-rush gamemode, where you can relax and build-up defenses before the real battle begins.

Usage:
Select the "No Rush" gametype under "Win conditions". 

Game Rules:
- Territory is divided equally at the start of the game.
- Squads will auto-retreat if they enter enemy territory during the no-rush period.
- All weapons are disabled during the no-rush period.
- Squads cannot capture new territory during the no-rush period. 

Features:
- 4 different timers to choose from: 5, 10, 15 and 20 minutes.

New in 2.0:
- Day-Night cycle (with reduced sight radius during the night)
- Several AI tweaks (skirmish games are a real challenge now, with the expert CPU being virtually impossible to beat.)
- Victory Point Control games
- All attacking abilities are disabled during the no-rush period. (CPU player cannot cheat anymore)
- territory division is now more equal. Some maps have neutral zones.
- vehicles are returned to base when they trespass.
- several bugfixes.

2.01:
- fixed bug on Vire River Valley (fatal scar error on game start)
