This is the Dark Crusade version of the recently released map Assault Renegade Fortress.
- "Commander these are dire times we live to see... Before you depart you should know that we left the imperial guard forces to fortify what we thought was a natural fortress... We were gravely mistaken. It appears they have betrayed us! And just after they were resupplied! Our first attack failed. To the northeast we couldnt get out of the forest. While to the west we couldnt take hill 319. You must destroy this heresy before they gain any more support than they already have!"
Get the idea? well your going to be against Imperial Guard (with a twist), you can have upto 3 allies with you, and have an additional 3 computers arrayed against you.
The map offers two options of attack at the start:
Go upwards and fight across the trenches OR try and take the fortified hill overlooking one of the entrances... the choice is yours. The AI wont let either go easily. Personally, the options aren't great but at least fighting up the hill will give you some cover.
The computer is scripted to create a multiplayer mission - it has not been fully tested. So report errors if you come across them. Choose your difficulty by destroying the skull probe on multiplayer.
Easy - Standard - Hard all have slight variations (Hard has everything, so be prepared!). Very cool map!
Assault Renegade Fortress v.1 Readme First of all thanks alot to Dark40k not only for his “debarq “ assault script, but also his tutorial on how to make it work, as well as his maps which gave me the inspiration for this map. I hope you all like it. Scenario: The imperial guard garrison has turned on the imperial forces, but nobody knows why. The first attempt to retake the “natural fortress” was obliterated and the job now falls to you to wipe this heresy from the face of the planet. Join forces with up to 3 Allies. And fight against 1 – 4 computers over what I think is an amazing map. IMPORTANT! PLAYER 8 MUST BE SET TO THE OPPOSING TEAM AND SHOULD BE IMPERIAL GUARD!! *To stop counter attacks take the source of the attacks. *To up the difficulty delete the skull probe until at required setting in multiplayer. (As in debarq: thanks again to Dark40k!) Starting points 1-4 = players 5-8 = computers. Installation: Put all the ‘mp’ files under the DXP2 -> mp folder (as usual), and put the decals under the decals folder (under art in the DXP2 folder). Note: This is my first ever map, so don’t be to harsh with feedback, and if anyone finds any problems I will try to fix them. It is also soul storm compatible, and should work with AI mods (dont know about others though). Feel free to use/edit this. **WARNING** THERE ARE ALOT OF UNITS IN THIS GAME SO IF YOU EXPERIENCE EXTREME LAG TRY TURNING ALL YOUR GRAPHICS SETTINGS DOWN **PS** EXPECT ALOT (AND I MEAN ALOT) OF CASUALTIES!!
