GOD-EMPEROR of MANKIND MODIFICATION (+ Nightbringer mod) THIS FILE HAS BEEN UPDATED! CHECK THE README! This update contains the SAME Emperor files (from version 2), but with additional Nightbringer modifications requested by people on the forums. Suggestions, as always, are welcome. ----------------------------------- Nightbringer Info ----------------------------------- Nightbringer is now a summonable being. You must purchase him BEFORE you begin to upgrade your monolith. He costs only power (Duh, Necrons). In addition to him being a now SUMMONABLE being who remains until killed, he has many other upgrades. *Attacks do more damage *Uses attacks quicker *Can move more quickly *Has POWERS, newly added based on forum input (discover them!) The nightbringer part of the mod is a rough EXTRA. Suggestions are welcome, but the Emperor remains the main facet of this mod. ---------------------------------- Emperor Info ------------------------------------ Welcome to the Beta (second) release of the Emperor Mod. In response to comments, and from original ideas, I've made several new changes. Please be aware of the following notes before you download this mod: 1.) This mod is not meant to be balanced. And, true to its intentions, it's not. Properly used, the emperor CAN be totally invincible (doesn't have to be, user choice). 2.) This mod is only remotely 'true to fluff'. The emperor in this time should still be on the golden throne. I don't care. Let's just say he woke up, and now he's all better. If the idea of using the Emperor offends you, this mod probably isn't for you. 3.) User suggestions are truly welcome, though updates will be slower after this update (probably not another for a couple of weeks). 4.) This mod is *probably* compatable with almost any mod that doesn't affect the force commander. I always recommend backing up beforehand. If you want to risk it, feel free to just copy this mods 'data' directory and OVERWRITE the other mods data directory. If you're using Windows, it *should* only overwrite and files that are the same, thus integrating the two mods. If you want more help on this, just email me. 5.) I highly recommend people who enjoy this mod attempt to learn how to merge it with their other favorites. This mod uses so fews original files (most are new) that it probably compatable with 90% of other mods. I use it with movie marines. --------------------------------- VERSION 2 UPDATES *Emperor now appears in full golden armor from campaign mode (the wargear) *Emperor now only costs power (not requsition) to 'warp him' to your battle map. *Emperor now starts with the upgraded weapons, including powersword. You no longer have to upgrade. *Emperor has a few new powers, complete with in game descriptions, I hope you enjoy! *Emperor's powers have been renamed and touched up for better effect. Problems: Still no teleport :( Still looking for suggestions. New togglable WOE icon still scewy. --------------------------------- Thanks for downloading this mod. While I still hope someone with more skill at modeling and textures will take up the effort, I know that I was too eager for an "Emperor" mod to wait any longer. I hope everyone will remember that this is just an alpha release! I will continue to update the mod until someone more qualified publishes a substitute! This mod alters the Space Marine's force commander and transforms him into the God Emperor of Mankind. III. Limitations You can only summon one Emperor of Mankind. Though if he dies, you can summon him again. I have elected to make him cost power, under the theory that you are using the power to help transverse him to your location. IV. Abilities The God Emperor of Mankind (Emperor) has multiple abilites. (You should do full research and upgrade to his sword to make sure you're getting full use!) i. When killed, there is a chance he will come back to life again with half his health ii. A monster at close combat, he will not find his true power until you upgrade to the sword. iii. The Emperor is quicker than other units iv. He inspires nearby troops with his presence v. The Emperor has a variety of 'glowy effects' on his person at all times. vi. A wide array of warp-powered abilities. His psionic storm is capable of wiping out everything on the screen - be careful!!! vii. The Emperor can activate 'Word of the Emperor' at anytime. This effect is NO LONGER TIMED - rather, you can toggle it on and off at your will! It will affect only the Emperor, surrounding his head in an orb of light. While on, he will be unkillable. viii. His mass has been increased so normal explosions and tank rounds will not send him flying. He can stand his ground against any foe. IX. New powers in the update! VI. Notes I love to use the emperor with the "movie marines" mod. I highly suggest it! The emperor should be fully compatable, just copy the emperor files into the movie marines mod folder and overwrite the existing ones. This file is for fun, use, and enjoyment. Please credit me, send me suggestions, and encourage more talented modders to take up the task! Nothing in these files is to be sold for any amount for any reason. VII. Installation Copy the folder and files into your Dark Crusade directory. From there, when you boot you should see 'Game Manager' and be able to select it. If you have to old version, I would delete it and do a fresh install, but you certainly don't have to. I have no idea if this will work in WA or DOW. Regardless, no liability can be attached for use of these files, use at your own risk!
