Skirmish/Multiplayer Map for 'Dawn of War - Dark Crusade'
for 4 players.

(1) Installation:

-Simply:
Unzip all files into your ../THQ/Dawn of War - Dark Crusade folder. Don't worry about overwriting if you get prompted, i haven't changed any files.



-Or:
If your zip program doesn't support 'using path' or if you ain't sure unzip all files into a temporary folder then drag them into the appropriate game folders like this:


the larger 4p_Mining_Pit_ascent.tga and 4p_Mining_Pit_descent.tga   into:
 ../THQ/Dawn of War - Dark Crusade/DXP2/Data/Scenarios/MP

the smaller 4p_Mining_Pit_ascent.tga and 4p_Mining_Pit_descent.tga  into:
  ../THQ/Dawn of War - Dark Crusade/DXP2/Data/Scenarios/MP/Loading

all other *.tga and *.sgb and the *.scar files into:
 ../THQ/Dawn of War - Dark Crusade/DXP2/Data/Scenarios/MP

(you might need to create some of those folders if you do it this way)

(2) Description

This 512x512 map features a large circular mining pit with 5 vertical levels. There are two starting positions at the bottom of the pit (map center) and two near the edge on the highest level. Each base has two strategic points close by and there are strategic points at the 8 ramps that connect the vertical levels. The 4 slag deposits are relatively near by the bases but hard to protect because very close to the level edges. There are also 4 strategic objectives and 2 relics, all on mid-levels.

The map is intended for 2 vs. 2 matches but can also be played 1 vs. 1 (player 1 vs. player 3). Assigning the two bases at the bottom (map center) to different teams is not recommended.

There are two versions in the zip file, one where player 1 and 2 start at the bottom (-ascent version-) and one where player 1&2 start on the upper edge (-descent version-). Other than starting positions and lighting the two maps are identical, so it only matters if you play skirmish against the computer.
Both map files are being installed so you have two version to choose from in the in-game map selection.. there is no need to choose when you unzip the files.

Enemy scout teams have discovered the location of our hidden base at mining pit 28b-091. Requesting reinforcements.. repeat.. All available units to 28b-091... We need to get our troops out of there.
