File Description

Here we have a new version of Worlds At War that has some fixes for multiplayer, and some tweaks to the map it self.

Within this system of small planets and asteroids was the happy abode of a peaceful civilization, existing in innocence of the evil around them. The great conflicts of the Imperium were unknown in this remote galactic sector. A pleasant serenity kept the small human colony in this realm tranquil, living contented lives surrounded by natural beauty.

But all things changed when the patriarch, Adam Principas, discovered an ancient pathway deep in the forest. As he followed it, pushing through the foliage, the shape of a mysterious figure appeared and beckoned him to follow deeper thorough the overgrowth. Enticed by mystery and hopeful for greater knowledge he was lured by the specter to the ruins of an alien gate. The simple touch of his hand caused an eerie glow to emanate as the cold stone drew strangely warm!

As he lingered for a moment he became entranced by the chilling sensation of warp energies tainting his soul. The form of the Harlequin solidified as her material body emerged from the gate, her laughter filling the air with mocked gratitude for reactivating the webway and freeing the warp weary Eldar clan. But a great surprise awaited deceiver and deceived alike - the gate continued to transmutate, shimmering with intracosmological arcs! A human had opened the gate, and now it would function for man, alien and beast alike! Now the long isolated planets would have free access to each other through their beloved craftworld. Now would ensued a bitter war in which all must put forth their every might... and still might fail.

Worlds at War is a map of galactic proportions, battling across worlds, moons, asteroids, and space-craft. Enterprising souls may wish to explore the remnants of the past civilizations; sensors show that the ruins may hold secrets which may help your cause.

Each player starts on their own planet, each planet having warp-gates connecting them to the other planets in the system. The AI handles the warp fine, so playing against the computer is not an issue. There is a small issue in that the warp fields generate pulses at a frequency that causes a temporary blanking of the memory banks of most squads. Be prepared to re-issue orders to troops as they arrive on the other side of a warp-point.

Worlds at War is a map of galactic conquest, battling across worlds, moons, asteroids, and space-craft.

Each player starts on their own planet, each planet having warp-gates connecting them to the other planets in the system. The AI handles the warp fine, so playing against the computer is not an issue. The warp fields do interfere with communication, so most squads will lose their orders during the warp process.

To install this, unpack the contents of the zip file to your mulitplayer scenarios folder.
Dark Crusade:
C:/Program Files/THQ/Dark Crusade/DXP2/Data/Scenarios/MP folder.
Soulstorm:
C:/Program Files/THQ/Dawn of War - Soulstorm/DXP2/Data/Scenarios/MP folder.

If this directory does not exist, create the Data/Scenarios/MP folder (the
parent part should have been created by your game install). On Vista, you may
find this directory in c:/users/[YourName]/AppData/Local/VirtualStore/Program Files/THQ

Unpacking should create a "Data/Scenarios/MP/loading" directory with the loading
image for Worlds At War in it.

Along with this map is the documentation for EZScar, and one version of the
EZScar script. EZScar makes scripting special functions for multiplayer or single-player scenario maps a lot easier to do. You are welcome to use it too!
