Here are two Imperial Guard Regiments based on those found in the Black Library book, "The Traitor's Hand", by Sandy Mitchell. If you've never read the book, I highly recommend it. It is different from the usual WH40K novel and wickedly funny. These are my interpretations of the 229th Tallarn and the 597th Valhallan, the two principal Imperial units in the novel.
Commissar Cain's Regiment by thunderfoot006 //******* INTRODUCTION Hello! Thank you for downloading my simple little mod. It isn't much of a mod but it is a start. I have the UberPainter Mod by IBBoard installed. The expanded colour palette allows my PC army to match my TT one. I also have two of Greg Aube's mods installed, the Digital Camoflage Mod and the Imperial Guard reskin for the vehicles. I like the look these give the Guard infantry. Thanks to the both of you for sharing your work with us. I have no idea what the schemes herein would look like with the original ingame patterns and settings. The instant I saw Greg Aube's work, I changed my IG over to it. I have also deliberately not made badges and banners for these units. This is because there are too many really good B&B sets available already. My own attempts at making custom badges and banners just do not look professional enough (yet) to burden all of you with them. I have not yet installed SS so I am not sure if these will work there. They should as long as SS folows the same format as WA and DC. I also do not know if these will work online. The reason for this is I have not yet played DoW online. Anyways, I hope you enjoy using these as much as I enjoyed making them. //******* INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS To install, place the folder named "imperial_guard" in one of the following locations: For Winter Assault - C: /Program Files/ THQ/ Dawn of War/ WXP/ Data/ art/ team_colours For Dark Crusade - C: /Program Files/ THQ/ Dawn of War/ DXP2/ Data/ art/ team_colours If you do not have the files mentioned above present in your game(s) already, simply create them there and you will be good to go. To Remove, just go to the folder(s) listed above and delete either the folder or the following two files: 229th Tallarn TEAM COLOUR, or 597th TEAM COLOUR. //******* CREDITS You, for taking the time to D/L my little mod Games Workshop and THQ, for giving us such a cool place to play. Sandy Mitchell, for creating Ciaphas Cain and sharing him with us. Greg Aube and IBBoard, for their excellent work which makes the PC game match my TT army more closely. //******* ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND USEAGE POLICY You may do whatever you like with these and use them as you see fit. I need no credit for them because they really weren't all that hard to do. Feel free to place them in your own mods and send them on. //******* DISCLAIMER 1) Your 'puter and apps worked before you D/L'd this.
