Hill 907 is a map for Dawn of War. It's based around a hill in Vietnam that raised awareness about the risks that were taking place during the conflict. The map is very well done indeed. Worth the download.
Hill 907 4p (full) A Multiplayer/Skirmish Map for WH40K:Dawn of War Winter Assault by Vol_907 Buildtime: 7 Days Players:4 BACKGROUND: Here't the final version to my first map for the DoW community, based on that 1987 film about a hill in Vietnam that raised awareness about the risks we were taking in the conflict. Again, this map was originally conceived as a 2v2, with two players starting on the hill, and two on the edges. However, 2 on either half works just as well. Most forms of gameplay should work on this map, although the original concept fits best with Take and Hold and Area Control, and least with Free For Alls (the guys in the middle have something of a disadvantage, being so close). FEATURES: 4 flags for each player, plus a couple of extras near the hill. 2 relics on the hill 3 critical locations (one at the peak, two at the north and south bases) 1 slag deposit for each player Each player starts out with 2 bolter turrets under his control as well (to discourage early rushes). Edge areas are accessible by 2 routes each, one large enough for vehicles, one only accessible by infantry. The hill itself is only accessible by infantry (with the exception of Eldar vehicles). Updates from the Beta version: - Starting positions changed (1&2 are on the hill, 3&4 on the edges). - A little extra scenery added (carnage, wrecks, extra burnt vegetation, a couple of craters, skirmish effects on some edges) - Lashed foliage provides light cover - Sky, fog - Custom icon - Custom loading screen I appreciate the feedback I got from the folks over at the relicnews forums, although, admittedly, most people seem to be more interested in playing the maps than evaluating them. INSTALLATION: Unzip files to you Dawn of War directory. The files should fall into their respective places in the WXP directory. CONTACT: firstname.lastname@example.org
