CGOnline has released an article with some interesting information on what might be the Next DOW game! It could be a number 2 or an expansion pack but at this time we don't know. Here's what was said:
THQ reported a record quarterly financial results today for their fiscal 2005 third quarter (Oct-Dec 2004), with revenues of $400.3 million, compared to $293.1 million for the same period a year ago. THQ attributed the high revenue numbers to sales successes of console titles like WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw and The Incredibles but games with PC releases also got THQ's attention today. In THQ's quarterly conference call, the company's execs announced that sales of titles like the Pandemic developed Full Spectrum Warrior strategy-action game and Relic's Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War, were high enough that the publisher plans to, in their own words, "expand on those franchises" in the future which mostly likely means sequels to both games are in the works. However, THQ once again announced a delay in the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, the long-in-development first person shooter from developer GSC GameWorld. In the last conference call in October 2004, THQ execs pushed the release of the game back to May 2005, but today they said the game will now be released in the second half of 2005 in order to give the development team more time.
Thats very interesting to hear! It probably won't come out for a long time but it's something for us to look forward to.
