File Description

set in the crumbling outskirts of an Imperial city slowly being consumed by the desert, Barthus Slums is a medium-sized (256x256) but rather cramped two-player map featuring a fairly high level of detail. Best played with Take and Hold & Control Area (yes, you can actually win Control Area victories on this one). Building space at the start areas is somewhat limited, so don't spread your base out too much. Gameplay will always focus almost exclusively on infantry; combat starts early and there isn't much room for vehicles to maneuver (no relics, either). In skirmish mode, play against Hard or Harder enemies if you want much of a fight.

The Map: set in the crumbling outskirts of an Imperial city slowly being consumed by the desert, Barthus Slums is a medium-sized (256x256) but rather cramped two-player map featuring a fairly high level of detail.

Installation: extract the archive to your DoW directory.
(that'd be D:\Program Files\THQ\Dawn of War in my case, for example)

Custom Art: this map uses one decal and one detail map from the sand_dunes set by monoRAIL. They're included in the archive in case you haven't picked up his map Sand Storm, although you really ought to get it anyway. You should also pay a visit to his site (www.cokane.com), since it was rather good of him to make his work available to all.

Contact: direct your comments and criticism to harrumph@gmail.com, please. Feedback is welcome and I'll be happy to update the map in the future, if need be.
