Welcome to Mayhem! The latest map by Miraj designed for a DOW chess mod to be released later. The map is an extremely interesting one based on a 64x64 chess matrix where each square is separated by channels of water. It is an 8p map but could work just as well with most any other type of game. Do enjoy this one, I believe it is one of the best out there not only because of the artwork but also because it is simple and therefore reduces online lag for 8p games. Author's Notes -------------- There are 4 slag deposits, 3 critical locations, 4 relics, and 18 strategic points. This map is the beginning of a chess mod for Dawn Of War. The map is laid out like a standard chess board holding a 64x64 matrix of squares. The squares are separated from each other by color and channels of water. These narrow channels of water are the only areas of heavy cover found on the map. The only negative cover area is found surrounding the middle critical location. Whoever controls this location is most likely to win the game, however, this location is also the hardest to defend. The four corners of the map are slightly separated from each other by canyon wall passageways and the middle critical point battlefield. The squares are big enough to build on but encourage a base to be spread out over the terrain so that units do not get bottlenecked or blocked off. Therefore, this is not a map that encourages turtling although it is possible. The one unit that will have problems moving throughout the narrow passages in this map is an Ork Squiggoth.
