File Description

This is a 6 player 3v3 map in a jungle/forest setting. A river slices through the centre of the map seperating it into 2 sides. The river is crossable by 3 artifical crossings that each have critical locations on them. The start points are surronded by hills and mountains.

The hills in this map have the added bonus of providing cover for your troops. I have done this to try and reflect the fact the troops on higher ground have an advantage when fighting troops on lower ground.

This map is also usable as a 4 player 2v2 map by closing the 3rd and 6th player spots and just playing with the other spots. This will mean each player will start in a corner of the map.

Installation
------------
Just put all the map (TheVacanetRiver) files into the directory

c:\<Your Dawn of War directory>\W40k\Data\Scenarios\MP.

If the Scenarios or MP folders are not there then you will have to create them.

Notes
-----
-> As with all my maps, I have added the ork jet crashed into a mountain.
-> The hills provide varying cover depending on the height the troops are at.
The top of the hill provides heavy cover and lower down provides light cover.
-> Also, the part of the hill closest to ground level does not provide cover because
there is no real advantage to being only just higher than enemy troops.
-> Groups of trees also provide cover on this map. These can add to the cover
that a hill provides so you get heavy cover when in trees on a hill. The
amount of cover never exceeds heavy.
-> I have tried to give the player a few areas to choose where to set up a defensive
line (if that is what they want to do). You could defend at the river or use the hills
with cover just behind it or use the strategic points near your base and set up
a turret defense. It also means you may be able to set up 2 lines of defense.
-> This map has no relics so attack strategies have to be more thought out
(other than charge with strong troops leading the way).
