The 2005 edition of [url="http://www.comic-con.org"]Comic-Con International[/url] ended yesterday (purpose: "creating awareness of, and appreciation for, comics and related popular art forms"); [b]Todd Hollenshead[/b] (id Software CEO) along with [b]The Rock[/b], [b]Karl Urban[/b] and two producers were all there to "publicize" the upcoming movie adaptation of DOOM. The attendees, indeed, got the privilege to see two short clips from it in addition to participate to a Q&A session. The first footage revealed one surprising fact compared to our previous news, namely that the story will really take place on Mars and not on a fictitious planet; also, the environments seemed to be looking very like those of DOOM 3. The second clip most notably showed Karl Urban viewed from a first-person perspective, that is, like in a FPS game! Todd Hollenshead, by the way, confirmed this impression that the movie and DOOM 3 were both very linked: "There are parts that are straight out of the game, [...] When you play the game and go see the movie, you'll see a direct correlation."
