It's kinda obvious that a good game has a good storyline, otherwise you're just doing something for no good reason. (i.e. a game where you just fight random characters in an arena without even knowing anything about your own character or what the whole purpose is)

I like the design in maps, so I guess gameplay. Timecop would be a good example of a neatly designed map.

well mod can have any graphics(like in game C&C),it doesn't matter much. gameplay is important, but not much. if its lags,no problem, seldom huge lag spikes,no problem, lags much all over the time or freezes computer,BAD.map is one of important thing. no screen shots, badly done map or just random crap is really bad. maps should have videos(only SP),and interesting areas.(like only hive, bad. hive, human bases, predator ship, that would sound great.) but most important is storyline. it is thing what takes player inside game, give reason to player continue/finish game and maybe play it again.just shooting targets isn't enough,it need to have good story, player backstory(or put to player amnesia) and so on.
