Looking at the name of this file, you may be thinking: "I recognie the name, but, something just doesn't seem...right..." If this is the case, you would be right, as the previous version was 1024x Textures & Models (v1.2 Base | RoE); The change has been brought about as Dafama2K7 has been forced to remove the models.
This mod was riginally developed by Saducimus, with 1024x1024 Jumbo Size Monster Skins, however, since then, this Doom III mod has been fully completely & updated by Dafama2K7. Essentially, 1024x Textures will increase the size of all textures & models to 1024X1024; The skins have only been increased in size, not modified in any other way.
This is definitely something you should should consider using as a base for your own skins, Dafama2K7 has hit it right on the head with his statement: You will LOVE the amount of detail that will be possible! 1024 X 1024 JUMBO SIZE MODELS SKINS v1.2 ! Originally built by Saducimus, now, fully completed & updated for all models by Dafama2k7. Attention...: I have been forced to remove the textures, now only models, i have not been able to filter and remove specific translucent .dds's that get's solid when converted from .tga to .dds (because they doesn't have some specific name that i can track, for example *_s.dds and i definitely will not do it by hand !). :( This file increases the size of all models to 1024 X 1024. The skins have only been increased in size, not modified in any other way. I encourage you to use this as a base for your own skins. You will LOVE the amount of detail possible. INSTALLATION: Drop the unzipped file (zzz_pak_1024x1024_dds.pk4) into the base and/or d3xp folder, or to any mod folder for D3 & ROE. You will notice a big difference in-game, and really see the advantage of the larger skins. Included: All !
