Deep_Underground is a map designed for 8+ players although I wanted to allow for tourney so I included a few security cameras as to counteract the large area of the map. (Camera setup taken from D3H8TOURNEY by freilos, an excellent map) The theme for this map is a deep underground facility which is on the brink of being demolished by a volcanic eruption. The ground beneath the facility has broken open, creating a thick grey fog. I am a learner with doom3 maps so I tried to keep this map simple by avoided making detail like support beams and stuff.

Note: version 1.0 was unfinished and especially unoptimized (serious FPS issues); this is no longer the case with this one. For a review of this map, see Deep Underground v1.0

Put Deep_Underground1.pk4 in your doom3/base folder.

All players must have the same Deep_Underground1.pk4 file to play together.

This is my first map since Quake and I am very much a learner. 

Known Map Issues: 

The camera display will not show camera 1 until camera 2-6 has been selected.
Some bad pixels can be see on the security camera display which I am unable to fix. 

The map has been optimized to the best of my ability. I used visportals to increase the FPS
although in some areas the visportals do not work properly. (when entering r_showportals 1 
into the console they show as being green but in some areas they change to red) This is a big
level and does not achieve the high FPS which other maps have. On my machine I average 20FPS. 

This map does NOT run smoothly in server mode. It must be run by a dedicated server. 
I have no idea of how to avoid this at this time except to build a smaller level next time.
