File Description
It adds laser sights to all guns but keeps muzzle flashes. Also added are some tracer flare lighting, reduced gibbing on some weapons, and other minor tweaks, that alter visuals but do not affect gameplay, balance, or difficulty.

Daredevil's Laser Sights and Muzzle Flash Mod for Doom 3 (I don't know if it will work with ROE). Description =========== I wanted laser sights on all the guns. I liked the other laser sight mods but they lost the muzzle flash, added flashlights to guns, or changed the gameplay and other things. I also didn't like the default level of gibbing. So the goals of this mod were to: 1. put laser sight on guns 2. preserve muzzle flash 3. add tracer glow to some projectiles 4. reduce gibbing (and delay corpse fade/burnaway) 5. no other changes to graphics 6. no changes to gameplay, balance, or difficulty installation ============ extract "paklaserflash.pk4" into your DOOM 3/base directory and start doom3, weapon behavior =============== pistol - red dot sight, no gib shotgun - red medium circle-dot sight, no gib machine gun - red dot sight, no gib hand grenade - gib on direct hit only chaingun - red small circle-dot sight, no gib, muzzle flash and tracer glow plasma gun - blue small circle-dot sight, gib, blue muzzle flash, tracer, and impact glow rocket launcher - red square-crosshair sight, gib on direct hit only, muzzle flash, tracer, and big impact glow bfg - green small circle-dot sight, gib on direct hit and splash, green muzzle flash, tracer, and big impact glow Also bumped up the knockback and push on the bullet weapons. I re-zeroed all the laser sights. I was lazy and did this by changing the aimpoint in the light .tga files instead of messing with the light target variables. Downside is that the .tga files are not interchangeable between weapons. All other weapons unchanged. Other changes ============= Corpse fade/burnaway is delayed for a while.
