File Description

Hellborg has submitted another of his spectacular map that is designed to increase the fun-factor of your Doom III gaming experience! Rotoscope/Adult Cartoon like shading for vanilla Doom3 v1.3.1; The Rotoscope Cartoon Shader creates a highly stylized depiction of the Doom3 world.

Features of this map include:

  • Added the fightsim map
  • Monster_type_1 acts as ally
  • Monster_type_2 is hostile
  • And more

This new version includes an additional test map, which allows spawning of two competing teams of monsters. This map was originally made to test pathfinding performance with many units, however, large entity numbers will slow down gameplay.

requirements:

-a Windows based PC capable to run standard Doom3 fluently.
-Doom3 full version 1.3.1

To run:

- copy archive contents into Doom3 base folder
- run by double clicking rotoscope.bat

-added the fightsim map:

1.(optional) set the cvars monster_type_1, monster_type_2,
 monster_num_1 and monster_num_2

	for example:

	type in the console:

	set monster_type_1 monster_demon_maggot
	set monster_num_1 30
	set monster_type_2 monster_demon_imp
	set monster_num_2 30

2. start the map by typing in the console:

	map fight

enjoy the show. Monster_type_1 acts as ally, MOnster_type_2
is hostile. Large entity numbers will slow down gameplay.

-removed a bug that introduced random noise in certain 
 situations

-enhanced edge outlines

-key gui components are easier to read

- Edge detection algorithm was adopted from sobel filter by 
  John Rittenhouse. 

- The steep edge cartoon effect was inspired by the black-
  white shader from XPac_27. 

- SDK changes to render the effect on all guis were 
  originally posted by leahcim.
