We are three students of the "University of Potsdam, Germany". We developed in the context of the seminar "Nonlinear Media - Media Semantic" a Mod for the computer game Doom III. The Mod uses game data which are generated by player and gameengine during the game in interaction. From these game data metadata are generated. These metadata will be represent in different ways.

Aim is making game data accessible to the human player, which aren't revealed to him in the initial game course. This game data represent additional game relevant information which makes the game easier for the human player on the one hand, on the other hand shall contribute to the atmosphere of the game however also, changed into representation forms which harmonize with the game event.

The mod should increase the fun at gaming!!!

Contents of this Package :

Use Instructions:
	Out mod brings up two new outputs on the HUD...
	   1. text in a row
	   2. indicatorbar
	...and some new sounds. Two new breath-sounds, which will be played when the player's health is under 40 or under 20.
	Furthermore the protagonist says some sentences about his environment.

	Our mod tells the player some game data:
	i. state of existing data: 	This shows the player as near useful items are.
	ii. danger data: 	This shows the player how dangerous his environment is.
	iii. immersive data: 	Tells the player some verbal expressions of the akteur, based on his senses.
	The indicatorbar has four circles.

	    * the left half of the red circle show the objective danger
	    * the right half of the red circle shows the subjective danger
	    * the green circle shows as near weapons and ammo are
	    * the yellow circle shows as near medipaks and armor are
	    * the blue circle shows as near pdas are

	Objective danger arises from the near and the power of the enemies. Subjective danger arises from the objective danger,
	player's health and the strength of player's weapons. The output of the immersive data is realized with text in a row and
	with soundoutput. In different lags different sentences are displayed, which express the feelings of the protagonist.
	The sentences are taken out of a collection with 50 sentences.

Installation Instructions:

     The file 'senses_mod.rar' must be extract into the
     Doom3-Directory. A new folder 'senses_mod' will be
     created. After that, you can start Doom III. Within the
     'Mainmenu' choose the Menu 'Mod'. Now choose the entry
     'Senses', that's our mod.
