Square Enix's E3 press conference has failed to set any fires this year, with a relatively short event that didn't have any major announcements, and surprisingly with no word mentioned on Marvel's The Avengers or Guardians of the Galaxy.
Plenty of footage was shown of the Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which as we mentioned on our Microsoft round-up, is looking to be another solid entry for Lara. Coming September 14th 2019, Shadow of the Tomb Raider has a new trailer shown, and this new outing by Lara Croft looks to be more of the same, but if you were a fan of Lara's most recent outings, this is looking to be another solid instalment.
Just Cause 4
It was confirmed that Just Cause 4 will be coming to a PC or console near you this December, and plenty of focus was given to the extreme weather engine that this new game brings, just to add an extra dose of crazy, not that it needed it. Tornadoes flying around the map was certainly a cool thing to see. Just Cause seems to be all about abusing the physics engine, and this title seems to be more than willing to continue that tradition.
The Quiet Man
We saw a sneak peak of this title, and honestly, I'm not sure what to make of it. It seems to revolve around a deaf man punching Hispanic dudes in an alleyway in New York, so take from that what you will.
Kingdom hearts III
Disney and Square Enix's Kingdom Hearts III was shown off again, after appearing at last night's Microsoft showcase, but this time with a deeper look into Captain Spirit, so one to check out for fans of this series perhaps.
A few other trailers shown at the event include;
- Nier: Automata: Become As Gods
- Octopath Traveler
- Dragon Quest XI
- Under the Moonlight
- Monster Hunter World
All in all, a short 30 minute press conference that didn't have too much new to say at all. What do you guys think? Are there any games here you're super excited for? Let us know below!
