It's the first (unofficial) day of E3, and Electronic Arts' press conference has come and gone. Full of (attempts at) humour, a few technical issues, and a whole host of trailers for new and existing content, it was exactly as one would expect.

We've collected a few of the highlights, with brief descriptions, so you can quickly see what you might have missed.

There weren't all too many announcements at EA's own press conference, which could indicate they're either doubling down on what they already have, or they've arranged for exclusivity deals/exclusive announcements at Microsoft's or Sony's press conferences later this weekend. That being said, there were a few announcements that they made.

Need For Speed: Payback is the newest entry into the franchise. It's developed by Ghost Games, who've been in charge of the series since the 2013 entry, and seems to be running on the Frostbite engine. There's not much else to be said for the game so far; what EA showed at the press conference was limited, but the game does seem to draw upon the stronger aspects of the more recent titles. 

A Way Out comes from the developers at Hazelight, who're better known for Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons. It's a couch and online co-op game, focused around two men's escape from a high security prison. It's unfortunately entirely co-op - there will be no possibility of playing it singleplayer, so if you're not a fan of that, this will be a game to pass over.

Anthem is a brand new IP from the famous Bioware. Though there is zero concrete information on the title yet, the teaser does indicate that it's set in some post-catastrophe environment with machines, armour, and a great big wall. The teaser also shows machines that could carry a semblance to the Titans from EA's Titanfall franchise,  but that could be entirely coincidental. 

Though very light on announcements, EA's press conference did supply us with some new glimpses at upcoming titles. 

Battlefront II will not feature a season pass, and all future maps, DLC, and characters will be available to all players free of charge. It will also feature a singleplayer campaign, but there's still not much known about that.

Both Madden 18 and FIFA 18 were shown off, and EA Sports have - again - promised to deliver on more content and challenges to their loyal playerbase. 

Night maps will be coming to Battlefield 1 later this month, along with some new general maps, and they showed off a trailer for the upcoming In The Name of the Tsar expansion pack.
