While it's been long hoped that Fallen Order will be a return to form seen in the Jedi Knight series, there's one thing that won't be returning, and that's the ability to casually dismember limbs from your foes using a lightsaber.
According to an IGN preview, the game's senior designer Justin Perez confirmed that the feature won't be in the game for humanoids, which is a shame. It didn't happen all that often in the JK series of games, but when it did, it was an oddly satisfying thing to behold.
The good news is, despite the more family friendly approach to human dismemberment, the game will at least still allow you to dismember non-humanoids such as androids and creatures.
Despite this minor setback, the game is looking to be one of the best entries in the Star Wars game franchise for some time. The combat is looking really great, and with From Software at the helm, we have no worries here.
