EA confirmed at their EA Play event ahead of this year's E3 that Apex Legends would be getting a brand new ranked mode, featuring ranks from Bronze to Apex Predator, with rewards issued at the end of the season.
During the event, Drew McCoy, who serves as the project lead at Respawn, announced that the upcoming Season 2 of Apex Legends would introduce the mode. The ranks will go from Bronze up to the top of the tree, Apex Predator, and will use special match making rules so that appropriately ranked players will match together.
There's six tiers, according to McCoy, but "only if you're good enough" - a she confirmed that "garbage tier" will be where the worst players will be grouped together if they cap out.
If you do gain tiers, though, you'll earn rewards at the end of the season, which we assume will be wearables and other cosmetics.
