Ubisoft announced quite a wide collection of new games today at their E3 event; here is a roundup of what is coming over the coming year, including a new Just Dance game, and a Star Trek VR Bridge Simulator.
South Park: The Fractured but Hole coming December 6th
The new South Park role playing game, coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One will be released on December 6th. Good news too for those who have not yet played it's predecessor, The Stick of Truth. If you pre-order the game, you will get a free copy of that game to play today.
Here's a new trailer for the game that was shown at the event;
Just Dance 2017
Uh, it's been a while since I was personally able to play a dancing game. Infact, I've never been able to play a dancing game. But the genre is making something of a resurgence, and Just Dance 2017 will be coming to all major platforms, including the Nintendo NX. Better get practicing.
Ghost Recon: Wildlands coming March 7th, 2017
Bah, that's a long time to wait; but Ubisoft promises this will be the largest action adventure open world game that they have ever done before, so hopefully it will be worth the wait. Judging by the trailer below, we certainly think so.
The Division: Underground DLC Expansions
Ubisoft showed off two DLC packs for The Division. The first one is called Underground, and will be coming on June 28th for both Xbox One and PC, and a little later, August 2nd, for the PS4. A second DLC pack, called Survival, was also revealed, as well as several new outfits inspired by other Tom Clancy games. Check out the trailer for Underground below;
Star Trek: Bridge Crew VR
Okay, I am excited for this.
Okay, I AM VERY excited for this. We've heard about this previously, but a demo of the game was shown at the event. The idea is that, using VR technology, you take a position on the bridge of a starship, and you have to work together with your fellow teammates to take command and no doubt defeat the Romulans or the Klingons, or something like that.
The concept is not exactly new, but the VR element, as well as official Star Trek franchising, makes this look like an all-new experience that Star Trek fans are sure to love. Now if only I could afford a VR headset...
So, good news for PS4 owners; you're getting all the DLC first. Lucky you.
We also got a new gameplay walkthrough, which shows of the game in some detail. It adds a lot of new elements to the hacking mechanics, which certainly make things more interesting, as well as showing off more of the new main character, Marcus. It certainly looks like it may be a solution to the problems for the first game, but we'll wait until we get our hands on it before passing judgement; fool me once, and all that.
Also revealed at the event was Steep, a new extreme sports simulator, a combination of Far Cry: Blood Dragon and Trials which, aptly, is named Trials of the Blood Dragon, a sequel to popular physics based platformer Grow Home, and a new Eagle Flight VR game.
