As you may or may not be aware, the long awaited modification "A Gate Two Birds and the Beautiful Sky" was released not to long ago, on the developers website.

This file, from Chrisstrahl, presents you with the source files for the Gate-Birds-Sky or GBS mod. Allowing you to see how the creators developed the modification and how the environments came to be, however it's not just the map files that are included here.

In addition to the geometry you also have; textures, models and shader files. Which will give you an idea how they work on a modders level. However you will require previous knowledge of modding in EF2 to make proper usage of this file.

The GBS Mod is a Open Source Project, developed by 'The Colonists'
for Ritual Entertainments 'Star Trek: Elite Force II'
It adds an all new single player adventure to the game. The story
centres around Illia Ericcson, a former agent of Section 31, the
Federation's most secret intelligence agency. Illia's final
mission proves to be her most dangerous one yet, as she faces
impossible opposition in Romulan space. (10 NEW Maps!)

The development of Gate-Birds-Sky is coordinated by Stefan "Argyle"
Hudelmaier and Lars Tiefland who brought you the award
winning Elite Force 1 mod Colony7.

GBS is completely open source. That means that everyone
(including you) has complete access to all files
(including maps music, textures, etc).

About this version
This version is based on the darkMatter-clan edition, but includes
the *.map SOURCE FILES, as well as the latest patch which will fix
a lot (actorweapondata.tik)! And the original TGA-Textures, unlike
as the official final release, which use *.dds (better performance
but quality loss on each edit).

This archive includes all files you need to edit the maps given
with this archive. In order to edit the maps create a new EF2
folder and copy your stock game with the official patch 1.1
(no additional maps mods or else materials) into this new folder.
