oberlerchner123 brings us a very interesting file for Elite Force 2.
Downloading and installing this file will add the ability to play a sitting emote while also replacing the default idle animation for players with something more appropriate than a combat stance. This in itself presents a very interesting opportunity to expand on the possibilities of Roleplay in Elite Force 2.
It's a mild start, but definitely a good one. Hopefully we can look forward to more usable animations in future versions. However, this file doesn't just change the above; Health and Energy Terminals will now recharge once used, meaning if necessary you can go back and use them again.
The author notes that this file makes use of an autoexec.cfg - meaning if you already use one, you will need to manually add the lines from this one to your own.
See the readme for further information and installation instructions.

----------------------------------------------------- RPG-Mod by Christian Oberlerchner 20.06.2008 ----------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------- Requirements: Star Trek: Elite Force II ----------------------------------------------------- Installation: Move the file "zzzz_rpg_mod.pk3" into your base folder. ----------------------------------------------------- Uninstallation: Delete the file "zzzz_rpg_mod.pk3" in your base folder. ----------------------------------------------------- This mod allows you to sit down. And if you just stand and don't hold a weapon, it doesn't look like you are holding a phaser anymore. It makes the Federation Health- and Weapon-Energy-Terminals recharge. Press the . key to sit down. Press the . key to stand up again. You can switch between 1st & 3rd person view by pressing , on the numpad. You can zoom with any weapon by pressing 0 on the numpad. ----------------------------------------------------- Notes: You can only sit on noclip seats. (what most are) If you want to replace the keys, open the .pk3 archive, and open "/global/autoexec.cfg" with a text editor. Then use it's replace function. (for example: search for: KP_INS replace with: + ) Some keys you can't enter directly. (for example: BACKSPACE, KP_INS (0 on numpad), ...) If you don't know one open EF2 and assign any command to that key, and the code will show up there. (don't forget to set it back again) If you already use a autoexec.cfg you need to put their content into one. This mod makes crouch look a little weird, but I think you will sit more than crouch in a RPG. And if somebody doesn't have this mod, it looks like you crouch to him. ----------------------------------------------------- You may use parts of this file as long as you give credit.
