The following was sent to our eMail account today:
Hallo, I have modified the Quake3 codebase from icculus.org (http://www.icculus.org/quake3) and adapted it to run Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force. The original EliteForce from Ravensoft is based on point release 1.17 of the quake3 engine. My work updates the technology and the engine behind EliteForce to the latest point release (1.34c) of quake3 and even further as there has been quite a lot of open source development since its source code release in summer 2005. Most notably the sound has been improved, but alot of bugs, among them serious ones, have been fixed. This code is very portable and should run on a variety of machines if built. Nevertheless, I have prepared three builds for different OS/processor combinations: Windows 32 bit: Linux 32 bit: Linux 64 bit: So basically, there now is a native Linux client for EliteForce available. All three archives include a README plus a build for the respective platform (a .exe file for windows) and an OpenAL installer that must be executed if one wants to use the improved sound. - -- Thilo Schulz
The files are located here: - Windows 32 Bit Version - Linux 32 Bit Version - Linux 64 Bit version
