Title : EF Minimizer v1.0
Author : TiM
E-Mail : timothyoliver@bigpond.com

File Name : EF Minimizer.exe
File Size : Approx. 60kb
Date Completed : Sunday, June 15, 2003, 4:59pm
Time Taken to Create : Roughly 4 days

Description : Have you ever had it when you're enjoying a nice game of EF, and suddenly your best friend
on MSN/ICQ/AIM/Yahoo/E-Mail/Trillian comes on, and you sheepishly remembered that you LEFT these programs on, and
from their view, you're still there...which you are. Your friend thinks you are there, and s/he is
sending messages which you'd like to reply to, but you really HATE using Alt-Enter, and if you
disconnect, you won't be able to get back into that EF server anytime soon (Coz it's just SO darn popular! ;) )?

Well here's the answer: EF Minimizer!
This program allows you to configure a certain key combination and will then run very quietly in the
background. Anytime in EF, you press that key combination, EF will quickly hide itself completely from
your view, leaving you at your desktop, free to do whatever you want. Upon pressing another key combo
(Which of course you entered in before), it will restore EF to the exact state it was just before you
pressed the key combo to hide it in the first place.

I got the idea for it from a program made for JK2, called JK2 Minimizer. I find that program very useful
and I missed the ability to minimize the program whenever I played EF.
Sooo, I took it upon myself to code my own version of it, for EF. And after 4 days of sifting the internet
for help with Visual Basic, here's the result! :)

Instructions For Use :
Unlike most other utilities for EF, you may put the EF Minimizer.exe file ANYWHERE you want.
Wherever it is will not affect it's performance at all. But for the sake of tidiness, I'd put
Mine in my "Star Trek Voyager Elite Force" directory.

Once extracted, double-click on the EF Minimizer file. A little 'about' window will pop up with
basic instructions, but just to clarify, I'll type them here too.

Click OK and the window will disappear. At the bottom of the screen (Or along the side depending
where your taskbar is), in the Windows System Tray, you should see a small grey icon of the
Hazard Team Insignia. This is to show that EF Minimizer is open, and that EF itself is not
running at the time. Left-click on this icon (Or right-click on it, and choose "Settings...") and
another window will appear that has 4 text fields in it. 2 of those fields will make up the
key combination you must press to hide EF and the other 2 will make up the combo to restore it.

To configure them, simply click on each field and press the new key combination you want.

Once done, click "Okay!" and the key combos will be registered into hot keys. Now you're all set!

Now simply run EF Multiplayer as you would normally, and from then on, press the key combos you set to
hide/show EF. Enjoy!

Main Features:
- Hides/Shows EF on command.
- Allows customization of command keys.
- When EF is running, the icon in the system tray will change color to indicate EF is open.
- Left-clicking on the icon when EF is off will open up the settings window. If EF is open, clicking on it
will restore EF.
- Right-clicking on that icon will bring up a menu of available features.
- Resting your mouse over the icon in the System Tray will also give you EF's status.

Known Bugs:
If when you hide EF, the desktop seems really bright, in EF type '/r_overbrightbits 0' (without quotes) into
it's console. If that doesn't fix it, change the gamma setting of EF (Configure>Video>Video Additional)
to a lower setting.

Also, if nothing happens, check if EF Minimizer is actually open, and if that's no good, try re-assigning
the key combinations.

If the interface is looking really funky/weird, try re-booting your computer.

(Note: If you do encounter a bug, or something that you think the Minimizer shouldn't be doing, then please e-mail me.)
