EAW dead? lol just insert the EAW disc and play online before launching this poll. Ok it's been around 2-3 weeks since I watched online again but 2-3 weeks ago even much more ppl had FOC, compared with the month after the release of FOC. I'm pretty sure not much changes in 2-3 weeks over there. Besides we got a clone war expansion coming soon, if everyone keeps their hands out of it and don't adjust it we might play Z3rox mod online also. It's called RaW (Republic at War), for the ones that can't follow. I'm gonna test it online when it comes out and if you have the same version of RaW it WILL work. EAW isn't dead !!! for the ones that said yes...maybe check it out before saying yes.

No cos i occasionly play it online isnt good cos even though u cant play FoC vs EAW but it still shows players from the opposite version and there arent enough large scale mods any more

#4 - Posted by: DarthNerd (Member) on 05-25-2008 at 06:47

as log as there are mods, maps, and the like being mass produced, and people wiling to play them, and people playing eaw online, it is alive.

 #6 - Posted by: Domm_Commander (Member) on 05-25-2008 at 07:22

I think EAW is alive because I find more people playing that then FOC when I'm on.

#7 - Posted by: MoffVaipa (Member) on 05-25-2008 at 08:31

No way EaW will never be dead.I personally think EaW is better than FoC but thats my opinion. And No-EaW is not dead! It

 #8 - Posted by: Darth_Thauron (Member) on 05-25-2008 at 10:46

wtf, this pole has been up several times before but in different wordings..and how can something be dead if its not alive? hmm, a question that will baffle scientists for years to come

 #9 - Posted by: kamikaziwatermelon1234 (Member) on 05-25-2008 at 11:00

i dont see how anyone could answer yes to this.....you know a community is dead when its pic of the week not pic of the day anymore :( it had a good run but sadly its slowly dying out

 #10 - Hmm... - Posted by: Xanofar (Member) on 05-25-2008 at 11:17

EaW including FoC? Then no. EaW itself? Sort of. There were two campaigns, and while the Rebel one was kind of crap at some points, at others it was really fun (that is, galactic largely sucked, I won't go into details, but it was very poorly done, the missions were pretty fun though). Oh, and ending at the point of the DS's destruction was lame, I wanted to conquer everything! The Empire had a good campaign, but it was kind of lame in the space battles with the lack of variety in units. I found, more often than not, I was just build tons and tons of Acclamators everywhere. >_> If I get around to it, I'd like to mod the Empire's campaign to improve the whole thing. I'd really like to do it for FoC though. The lack of pirates in FoC is kind of dissappointing as well. I'd like non-playable factions involved more, but there are mods for that, so I'm happy. I liked EaW's color scheme more too, but not the main screen TIE cockpit, kind of annoying, I thought. The ZC is VERY fun to play *as*, but annoying as crap to go against. But making it possible to play without them is fun, so long as you can play *as* them when you want to.

ALl Era Mega mod FTW

That mod is shit

#12 - Posted by: Soveriegn (Member) on 05-25-2008 at 12:22

EAW online, is totally dead, the only people that are there, just use the chat room to talk with each other, while there are hardly ever any games, and FOC online is no better cause everybody whines if they cant be Con cause they got no skills.

#13 - Posted by: GreedoNeverShot (Member) on 05-25-2008 at 16:17

Vanilla EAW is dead... Half of the people who own the game cant even connect to Gamespy (Go Petro!) As for everyone talking about the mods, no amount of mods, even z3r0x's mods, can bring this game back.

 #14 - Posted by: Jack2066 (Member) on 05-25-2008 at 16:41

uMMM #11 U wouldn;t know a Dam thing Would you???

 #15 - Yes - Posted by: AlexAdiMundi (Member) on 05-25-2008 at 17:53

I agree fully with 12 also this site is like half dead, it takes like 3+ days aftter submission of map for it to actually show up on the site! EAW Is endangered.

#16 - Posted by: GreedoNeverShot (Member) on 05-25-2008 at 18:28

Lol no one ever said this site was dead, the moderators have lives.. I think the hundreds of people logged on would disagree.

 #17 - not yet - Posted by: Comandercody9 (Member) on 05-25-2008 at 20:19

it is not dead yet but when the next big star wars rts comes out its dead and RAW is gonna kick @$$

#18 - Thoughts on this question - Posted by: MuchTooLearnUSH (Member) on 05-25-2008 at 20:54

A foot note before I comment,...I only play GC and the single player campaigns; no online multiplayer, so I cannot speak to this portion of the game series. EaW Dead? Humm? Me thinks not! I've been playing various mods for both EaW and FoC pretty much non-stop since the games were put on the market. I cannot say this of any other game I've ever played. As long as good mods and maps are being produced, EaW and FoC contain much fun and, play-ability. I'd like to say to Petro and Mr. Lucas this: Your missing the opportunity to expand on these games. There is still much fun for the fans of this series and, say I must, profit for those behind this great gaming experience. As for the various Mods which continue to pump "life" into this series: Modders and Mod teams, please continue to do what you do! I've seen great mods and great ideas within various mods; in fact, you folks put the Petro developers to shame. Petro folks: If your "listening", you might want to hire some of the great Modders out there to re-do this game series right; perhaps even creating new offshoots based on the various novels (there is great profit potential here if done correctly).

 #19 - Expansion - Posted by: Xanofar (Member) on 05-25-2008 at 23:01

I hate it when they come out with new games, a bit, because they sort of kill off the old. I love expansions though, they really add a lot. Then again, it's pretty nice when a sequel is almost exactly like the first, only with more weapons/levels/troops/options/etc.

#20 - Posted by: TiberiousKirk (Member) on 05-26-2008 at 07:58

EAW and FOC are not dead persay. It just seems to take a lot of time to adapt and mod. If a faster, easier, and better way could be found, I think it would make a difference. It is in the lull between mod I think the community looks dead, but looks are deceving.

 #21 - Posted by: Xenophon38 (Member) on 05-26-2008 at 11:52

How can you kill that which has no life?

#22 - Posted by: DarthNerd (Member) on 05-26-2008 at 17:22

I know that I'm waiting on Thrawns revenge, and Im vice chair of a new mod... which, ironically, needs modders and skinners and modelers... but we have mappers and coders!!!!! And beta testers... But no, its not dead until (i reiterate) no one wants to touch the maps, mods, models, files in general, or even the map editor. As for the staff, they have lives and cant be here 24/7 (the epsilon5 incident a blaring example) but that doesnt mean the GAME is dead...

#23 - Posted by: Soveriegn (Member) on 05-26-2008 at 22:14

Ok I noticed something now, are we talking about the site or the game cause it sounds like that you guys are talking about this site, when it should be the game. And the game is dead for online.

#24 - Posted by: LordTyber (Member) on 05-27-2008 at 08:35

tbh comparing empire at war filefront to some of the others, this site is quite dead the game is aswell im noting a lack of games, even when i change server location (so from uk to usa etc) we need to make eaw popualar or just have an expasion on par with the likes of C&C 3 (graphics wise) but speaking candily i personally think eaw needs a major rethink and/or overhaul

#25 - Posted by: Chandler (Member) on 05-27-2008 at 10:56

EaW is on a life support known as modding.

#26 - Posted by: DarthNerd (Member) on 05-27-2008 at 12:30

until no one person is left remembering the game, or playing it, or has it installed, it is not dead- just weak. And persoonally, BF2 is more dead than this, I think.

 #27 - Posted by: republic_owner (Member) on 05-27-2008 at 12:32

here a word from Republic_Owner! EAW isn't Dead, can't be Dead and never will be Dead!!!!!!!!!! alright i haven't posted on EAW for a long time, but that doesn't mean i don't play it often!!! i've been working on a map, sure i'm gonna post it soon.... but EVERYONE, KEEP USING THIS SITE FOR YOUR MOST WEIRDEST CREATIONS OF EAW IT'S ONLY BETTER FOR THE SITE AND THE GAME ITSELF!!!!!!!!! SO SEE YOU SOON, ON EAW..! Republic_Owner, New_Generation Files..!

#28 - Posted by: DarthNerd (Member) on 05-27-2008 at 16:37

Now thats what I like to hear!!!

 #29 - Posted by: _sith_ssdironfist (Staff) on 05-27-2008 at 18:47

No, EaW is not dead, and it never will be. And #14, shut up, you will never be respected in the community if you act like that....

#30 - Posted by: Baxterlion (Member) on 05-28-2008 at 00:44

EaW will never be dead cause it's kickass }> And #14 you should die xD

 #31 - Posted by: R2Q2 (Member) on 05-28-2008 at 06:35

EAW is not dead, not yet. I normally play it daily online (it is 3 or 4 weeks ago that I played it, but I have lots to do). Okay there are not as many people there like in Star Craft or War Craft. But as long as there are more people online than in Earth 2160 it is ALIVE. Yeah I love it to play EAW online

 #32 - Posted by: Darth_Thauron (Member) on 05-28-2008 at 14:29

#29, ya, #14 should shutup, but he was just retaliating against an equally if not more annoying person

 #33 - Posted by: kamikaziwatermelon1234 (Member) on 05-30-2008 at 10:06

#31 when a game that is a decade old like starcraft is still getting more online activity, and it doesnt even have a real online mode, than a brand new game the new ones dead, now i know starcraft is the greatest rts of all time and all but still, a new game should have more online activity at least for the first two years of its release

 #34 - Posted by: Qui0jinn (Member) on 05-31-2008 at 04:29

yeah but StarCraft has a legacy that EaW will never have, I think a comparison between the two is a little harse. I dont think EaW is dead, but I base that on the size of the modding community rather than the online gaming community. I my self have never played online, but am really into the modding side of it.

#35 - Posted by: Darthmetroid (Member) on 05-31-2008 at 11:09

EAW will never be dead so long as at least one person still plays it, and so it will never be dead in my lifetime

#36 - Posted by: darththomas (Member) on 06-01-2008 at 02:03

well it's not as dead as some of the other sites

 #37 - Posted by: Darth_Thauron (Member) on 06-01-2008 at 18:02

were talking a bout a game...not a site

 #38 - Posted by: msc204x (Member) on 06-07-2008 at 08:17

HOW DARE YOU SPEAK OF THAT!!!!!! EAW IS NOT DEAD!!!! i mean look at dark forces2, and galactic battlegrounds >.> people are still playing those. DONT LOOSE THE FAITH!!!!

#39 - Posted by: taoth (Member) on 06-07-2008 at 21:17

this game is not dead as long as you enjoy plaing the game.

#40 - Posted by: RevanMMaster (Member) on 06-08-2008 at 02:50

Empire at War is not dead, there are many new Total Conversion mods in the works, and many addons as well. I agree with #35 on what he said too.

#41 - Posted by: DarthNerd (Member) on 06-08-2008 at 16:39

heh heh... the game isnt dead, but this poll is...

 #44 - Posted by: pra_viilon (Member) on 06-14-2008 at 01:30

i am tired of eaw community even though i am new here. it is because of those permissions stuff and cocky people. this community is hard to survive, people arent friendly here. i love kotor communityand some others

 #45 - @ 41 - Posted by: Razgriz1928 (Member) on 06-15-2008 at 15:01

Yeah id be more concerned that the poll has been up for about a month and the mod of the week has become the mod of 3 months

 #46 - Posted by: FEARsome_oddslayer_4667 (Member) on 06-16-2008 at 03:22

Pra, you just need to learn the ropes. it's like a right of passage almost, once you get what your doing and know whats legal/illegal your all set. but yes, eaw is for surely dead. and by that i mean the multiplayer. where are the days of massive clan battles on Eaw? where did all the people go after a year? what happened to all of them? oh...right they got bored of eaw. some of the most well know clans don't even exist anymore, but no one would know that unless your friends with the people in that clan. everyone has heard of the 506th, the 501st, the 502nd, ISF, FEAR, THX, Hood, just to name a few well know ones. i would say ( haven't been online in what seems to be a year now) THX may e the only clan left and maybe 501st. 506th over turned their leader and then split up, only coming back as friends. FEAR disappeared. 502nd is pretty much gone, most of the members left. ISF has been gone for a while. THX might still be there considering they're still mapping. so yes for me, Eaw is dead, then again i had it since it first came out and experienced the multiple "wars" on eaw. It's dead in my view.

 #47 - Posted by: Caedus2008 (Member) on 06-17-2008 at 05:38

Lets hope they bring a EaW 2 out, i would like to see massive changes if they did bring it out...
