File Description

This Mod is for EAW but apparantly will also work on FoC.

This is a demo release of the upcoming Authentic Sounds Mod, so naturally this only changes a small amount of the game.

It changes the Majority of Vaders Speech to lines taken from the movies, including:

"Yes." "I find your lack of faith disturbing." "What is it?" "You've found something?" "Your destiny lies with me." "You may dispense with the pleasantries." "As you wish." "All too easy." "The Rebels are there." "That is the system." "Prepare your men." "Set your course." "It is useless to resist." "You are beaten." "There is no escape." "Prepare for my arrival." "What is thy bidding, my master?" "Several fighters have broken off from the main group. Come with me." "Stay in attack formation." "I'm on the leader." "Stay on the leader." "The Force is strong with this one." "I have you now." "WHAT??" (in TIE fighter) "I've been waiting for you, Obi-Wan." "When I left you, I was but the learner. Now, I am the master." "Your powers are weak, old man." "You should not have come back." "This will be a day long remembered. It has seen the end of Kenobi, it will soon see the end of the Rebellion."

***EMPIRE AT WAR AUTHENTIC SOUNDS MOD BY CRUNCHYFROG234***

Introduction:
This is a "demo" of my planned Authentic Sounds mod for Empire at War. I will make one
for Forces of Corruption when this is completed. I have taken sound clips
from the movies and used them to replace in-game dialogue. For this demo, I have only replaced
Vader's sounds, just to give an idea of what the finished product will be like.
In the finished mod, I will replace as many sounds as I can for all the movie characters.
Obviously, I won't be able to replace that many lines for some people, like Ackbar
and Veers, because they don't have that many lines, but I'll do the best I can.

I have left some of Vader's regular game dialogue in the game for the time being, because I wanted to find out
whether people thought I should leave some of the game lines in there, or just take them all out. I have enough
different sounds for Vader that I could probably just take out all the game sounds and make him completely
authentic, at least as far as gameplay goes. So please leave some comments giving your thoughts about that,
as well as any other feedback you might have.

After installing, I recommend you play the first mission of the Empire single player campaign, as that
will give you an opportunity to test out Vader's sounds right off the bat.

Disclaimer:
I don't know if this mod will conflict with other mods, so you should backup the relevant XML's just in case.

Installation:
Copy the XML files and place them into your Data\XML folder
Copy the sound files and place them into your Data\Audio folder
If you do not have one or both of these folders, create them and then put the files in.

Uninstallation:
Simply take the original game XML's (hopefully you backed them up like I said) and put them
back in place of the modded XML's. Delete the sounds to free up disk space, unless you want to keep
them.

Interesting side note:
After you put the sounds in your Data\Audio folder, you can actually get them to work in Forces of Corruption
if you put the XML's into the XML folder for that game, too. This won't change the sounds for Vader in
the Executor SSD though, because those are coded in a different XML and I haven't started working on that one yet.

Changes made:

The following lines have been replaced with exact movie counterparts:

- "Yes."
- "I find your lack of faith disturbing."
- "What is it?"
- "You've found something?"
- "Your destiny lies with me."
- "You may dispense with the pleasantries."
- "As you wish."
- "All too easy."
- "The Rebels are there."
- "That is the system."
- "Prepare your men."
- "Set your course."
- "It is useless to resist."
- "You are beaten."
- "There is no escape."
- "Prepare for my arrival."
- "What is thy bidding, my master?"
- "Several fighters have broken off from the main group. Come with me."
- "Stay in attack formation."
- "I'm on the leader."
- "Stay on the leader."
- "The Force is strong with this one."
- "I have you now."
- "WHAT??" (in TIE fighter)
- "I've been waiting for you, Obi-Wan."
- "When I left you, I was but the learner. Now, I am the master."
- "Your powers are weak, old man."
- "You should not have come back."
- "This will be a day long remembered. It has seen the end of Kenobi, it will soon see the end of the Rebellion."
(The previous five lines are for dueling with Obi-Wan. I'm not sure if they're all actually used in-game,
but I figured I'd just play it safe and replace them all, anyway.)
- Not a line, but I also changed the sound Vader's lightsaber makes when he turns it on/off,
because any truly observant Star Wars fan can tell you that Vader's lightsaber always, ALWAYS
makes a different sound than Luke's and Obi-Wan's do.

The following movie lines have also been added and/or replaced other lines:

- "Make ready to land our troops."
- "As you wish." (a different one)
- "I must obey my master."
- "Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed."
- "You underestimate the power of the Dark Side."
- "You will meet your destiny."
- "I'll take them myself. Cover me."
- "Come with me."
- "NOOOOOOOOOO!!" (For when he gets killed. Come on, I had to work it in somewhere.)
- "Indeed, you are powerful."
- "Close up formation."
- Also put in grunting from when Luke kicks him down the stairs in Return of the Jedi
