File Description

My idea to create this map was that I wanted to have a map which would put a few of the basic rules aside so I made this map. What makes this map so unique is the fact that there is only one way to the enemy's base yet it still got plenty of strategy in it. Each faction got their own advantages and disadvantages and the map allows both sides to exploit the terrain and the centre of the map will act like an arena where all players are forced to put hard against hard. In the centre one will be able to find a Cantina, an abandoned Sensor array, and an abandoned heavy vehicle factory. On each side of the centre there are two valleys guarded by the local inhabitants, they are guarding the mining facilities.

Description:
My idea to create this map was that I wanted to have a map which would put a few of the basic rules aside so I made this map.
What makes this map so unique is the fact that there is only one way to the enemy's base yet it still got plenty of strategy in it.
Each faction got their own advantages and disadvantages and the map allows both sides to exploit the terrain and the centre
of the map will act like an arena where all players are forced to put hard against hard.
In the centre one will be able to find a Cantina, an abandoned Sensor array, and an abandoned heavy vehicle factory.
On each side of the centre there are two valleys guarded by the local inhabitants, they are guarding the mining facilities.

Rebel advantages:
A wide path to the centre of the map - which allows many units to travel fast
Airspeeders - The Airspeeders are allowed to travel across the map without having to follow the path
Open Base space - The enemy Bombers will have a hard time to destroy two buildings in one run

Rebel disadvantages:
The Power plant is located near the Radar (yet they have four Rebel Build pads to defend the them and the enemy can be forced to cross
a river to get there)
Airspeeders are extremely vulnerable to Anti air weapons
They have a wide path to defend (plenty AT-AT walkers can assault their base without too much trouble)

Empire advantages:
the path to the centre is a bit shorter than the rebels - gives the player some extra time to fortify his position
The AT-AT walkers will have an easy time to navigate and their targets only have little space to manoeuvre on
Their Power plant is right outside the base (but not inside the base shield)
Due to the narrow path near the Empire base, it is easy to defend the path.
Most of the resource pads are located behind the line of defence
Boba Fett is able to fly inside the rebel base without being noticed by the base defence

Empire disadvantages:
Narrow path to the middle of the map - yet the path is easy to defend
Heavy traffic may cause a slow a advance

common advantages:
Both teams have a base shield
one resource pad is located within each base
each team will find two Turbolaser towers near their bases (But they'll have to rebuild them first)
It is possible to for both teams to destroy some buildings/defence without having to follow the patch

common disadvantages:
Both Radar buildings are located far outside the bases
Each team will have to fight Ewoks to reach the centre of the map

Other: I do not know much about Star Wars universe so forgive me if something doesn't make sense in the map, but I think EaW is a great game and I am a huge fan of Petroglyph!

Background Story: The planet East Wood is a very peacefully green planet full of trees and great woods, East Wood is also the home of Ewoks and humans.
The empire once used the planet to build and test some of the very early AT-AT prototypes, but the factory was abandoned when the empire left the planet,
but they also left a few unfinished AT-AT walkers behind along with a sensor array. life went on and people had a good time in the local cantina but one day
the inhabitants of East Wood learned that the rebels wanted to steal the AT-AT prototypes along with the technology within them. But the problem was that
the empire had planned the demolition of the base to happen the at the same day.
in a desperate attempt to avoid a war the inhabitants stole a radio jammer from the abandoned base with the single purpose to make sure
that both the rebels and the empire would think they would be alone and they one of them would manage to complete their task first without seeing any enemy.
the day came and the rebels made a large base, large enough to host an army of AT-ATs and the Empire only needed a little base since they were only going
to stay for awhile.
both teams turned their faces towards the old base, the empire came first and at the time they were about to begin the demolition, the rebels showed up!
now each side most battle each other and only the best will survive
