Most important notes: - This is my first upload, it's not perfect. - This is for FOC - These are land campaign maps, not skirmish maps. Some are original, some are remakes of ones already in-game. - There are a couple other xml goodies inside as well for those who know how to use them (new projectile types and armor types). Further explanation in the readme.
You do need my permission to use any maps. I'll probably say yes, but you have to ask anyway.
You must give me credit for the xml additions, though you don't have to ask my permission (a notification would be nice though).
I'll upload an updated/expanded/improved version later.
Why did I make this/upload this?
I made these for my own sake because I like to experiment and test things. I chose to upload them because I thought fellow modders might find them useful/interesting.
Readme... I guess. "Nate_Xanofar_Map_Pack_V_0.5" >_> Note: - This is for FOC. - This is not a mod. - This is small map pack, with some other goodies as well... - This is most beneficial to those who know how to mod and are working on their own personal-use mod who like to experiment (like me). - I did this for my own fun. - Whinying and criticism is not appreciated. - Feedback about projectile/map behavior is very appreciated. - You are downloading this at your own risk. This is my first release, it sucks, I know, but I'm releasing more for myself anyway as a way of motivating myself to upload more later. I plan on updating most of these, by the way. You *MUST* know how to mod yourself in order to use any of this. I'm not trying to appeal to all the whiny "Make it perfect! The Empire has to be strongest! Include more space units! I like POTDs with SSD shooting lasers!" n00bs out there. Anyway. In the next version, I'll upload some *actual* units as well (in xml files, not a mod), but first I need to get permission from various people to do this. I could release one hero unit right now, but I only have permission to release the land half right now, so that'll have to wait... Sorry! What's in this one: ***** I included the projectiles from 2.5 of the weapons in Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast: - FC-1 flechette launcher http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/FC-1_flechette_launcher *includes both firing mode projectiles - the bomb mode might have some issues though with range...* (recommended only for minor/major heroes due to it's power) Popular with: - Stormtrooper squad leaders - Swamptroopers - CSA Infantry - Kyle Katarn - Imperial Heavy Repeater http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Imperial_Heavy_Repeater *includes both firing mode projectiles* (recommended only for minor/major heroes due to it's power) Popular with: - Stormtrooper squad leaders - Trandoshans - DXR-6 disruptor rifle http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/DXR-6_disruptor_rifle *only includes the fully-charged, very-very-low-rate- of-fire shot, a bit too powerful against vehicles too, unfortunately* (recommended for sniper units like Noghri assassins, Twilek commandoes, Defilers, Rebel Infiltrators, etc.) Popular with: - Criminal Snipers - Assassins ***** Damage and armor types: I added two new types of armor: - "Armor_Infantry_Suit" (intended for infantry units that wear full-body armor, so that certain damage types affect them more or less than regular infantry armor - bug bites and spores don't affect them, for instance. These units should typically be a bit slower than their non- armored counter-parts) Recommended for: - Stormtroopers - Mandalorians - Royal Guards etc. - "Armor_Hero2" (same as infantry_armor_suit, except the hero version) Recommended for: - Darth Vader - Boba Fett - IG-88 - Droids team etc. Bewarned! I completely re-wrote a lot of the already-existant damage balances to suit my own tastes. Unfortunately, you'll have to either go with what I have or copy- paste them individually. Mine are probably horribly unbalanced though... ***** MAPS!! OK, so here are some of my own maps I've made (that I've tested and *can* release). As far as I'm aware no models in here were 'stolen', they're all from the original set, but if I'm wrong, I'm very sorry, because I am honestly not aware of it as I write this. Three are from the Rogue Squadron Game. - Chorax ("Search For The Nonnah") *The terrain is a bit lacking, and I'll work on it, then again, the terrain in the original game wasn't much better* - Jade Moon ("The Jade Moon") *difficult to manuver, I know, but it's actually pretty accurate, believe it or not, I need input on this one for gameplay* - Taloraan ("Battle Above Taloraan") *believe it or not, that planet isn't Bespin, I didn't figure that out 'till years later* (Keep in mind these were made based on a FLYING game, so don't get upset if your AT-AT can't walk everywhere, also, I'm currently working on the planet "Balmorra", which will be made up of a combination of the level "Imperial Construction Yards" and the 'The Second Battle of Balmorra'). Four are simple re-makes of mine of already existing planets. - Byss (added three dark-side rancors *WHICH IS CANON* and more civiilians and some more Imperial defenses) - Wayland (mixed and matched the terrain for experiments sake and added some more indigenous to represent the different local sentinent species, the royal gaurd at the top is supposed to be Jorus C'Baoth. I'll make an update on this one later) - Polus (more Pyn'gani!! Also, there's a couple secondary structures that weren't there before, I'll go through this later and see if any updates are necessary, but so far, I'm happy with it). - Kessel (made it a three-structure planet with some nifty easter eggs and extra defenses) Two are remakes, but are supposed to be different planets. - Yaga Minor (remake of Corellia, better version coming out eventually) - Raxus Prime (remake of Wayland, it's 95% finished, so here is the *almost* final version - I put A LOT of work into this one) (more planets to come later) ***** CREDITS PERMISSIONS ***** OK, so, rights and all that. (I did everything - in this release anyway) If you use the projectiles in a released mod, give me credit, no questions asked otherwise. Notification would be nice though... If you use the armor types in a released mod, give me credit, no questions asked otherwise. Notification would be nice though... You darn well better ask my permission to use these: - Chorax - Jade Moon - Taloraan - Raxus Prime God help you if you don't. You need my permission for these too: - Polus - Wayland - Kessel - Yaga Minor (email@example.com, or PM me - "Xanofar") No other credits, but here were some inspirations: Phoenix Rising Space Mod 1.0 The land map of the planet "Bastion" for z3r0x's mod The land map of the planet "Ord Mantell" for z3r0x's mod The land map of the planet "Mechis III" for z3r0x's mod (I didn't take anything from any of these, but they all inspired me with new ideas)
